Josh Groban Admits to Secretly Lurking in Audience Before Concerts

Facebook.com/JoshGrobanJosh Groban’s world tour in support of his album All That Echoes is now underway: he’s currently in Australia, and will be performing there through the end of the month. After that, he’ll head to Europe and the U.K., before finally landing back in North America in July for a series of concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. But here’s a secret: it isn’t just on stage that you might be able to see Josh.

The singer says that before he performs each night, he likes to don a disguise and walk around the venue incognito, checking out everything and taking the temperature of the room. Why? He says it helps him and his band put on a better show.

“In theater school, we used to learn that a great theater experience starts when they park the car,” Josh tells ABC News Radio. “You’re trying to give somebody an experience that they’re never gonna forget, from the moment when they walk in the building. And, so, it doesn’t just start for me when the lights go down.”

Josh explains that it’s not enough for him to walk on stage and look at the audience. “I wanna know what the merch stands look like,” he says. “I wanna know what people are talking about. What’s going on out there? I wanna know what the vibe is so that when we start our moment, we can best help those people escape for those two hours.”

But has Josh ever been busted by a fan while he’s strolling around the venue? He laughs, “Nobody’s busted me yet. I think that now that I’ve said it, I might get busted a few times!”

Live Review: Josh Groban – Festival Theatre, Adelaide (18.04.13)

April 19, 2013 – 12:39am — Sosefina Fuamoli

I’m not going to pretend to be the world’s biggest Josh Groban aficionado, because after seeing him perform tonight, there’d probably be a decent thousand odd hardcore fans ready to shoot me down if I did. Nestled comfortably near the front of the theatre this evening, I’d forced myself to approach this gig with little to no expectations; I only knew about three songs of Groban’s definitely (those three which he performed in sequence, at the beginning of the show), so I just sat back and hoped to enjoy what clearly was set up to be quite the musical evening.

The Festival Theatre was near capacity I’d say, a great feat for Adelaide on a Thursday night. There’s no support act tonight and, after taking a look at the stage, which was elaborately set up for Groban and his band, I understood; the sheer amount of time it would take to reset the stage and shuffle gear around would’ve been a bit too much. It didn’t hinder the main performance though, as the crowd was well and truly warmed up and eagerly awaiting the baby-faced Californian.

Emerging from the wings and kicking straight into “Brave”, Groban’s trademark tenor vocals lit up the theatre. It’s not only Groban who steals my attention immediately, however. Guitarist Tariqh Akoni instantly becomes a musician I’m constantly watching, as he powers through every delivery, grinning, encouraging crowd participation and adding a rock element to this ‘adult contemporary’ show that I wasn’t expecting. I could write pages on how talented the assembly of musicians onstage are tonight but to keep it short, what we’re witnessing is a truly international performance unit; you’ve got a Finnish dude and a Boston native on percussion duties, a horn and string section from New Zealand, the Californians in Groban and Akoni, plus a Russian representative on keys. Throw in the Adelaide Chamber Singers near the end of the gig and there you go; a cultural mixing pot of music appreciators and man, do they do their jobs well.

The set tonight goes for just over an hour and a half and demonstrates the talent Groban possesses as a bilingual singer (he performs a number of songs in Spanish), and as an entertainer. I was worried that a show this long, with such bravado-filled numbers, would only hold my attention for so long, but Groban’s crowd-working skills in between every few songs kept it lively. He’s got that demeanour about him that would make him the perfect guy to bring home to the parents; a dry yet cute humour (“It was so muggy in Perth…but here, I rode in a paddle boat!”), an easy-going stage presence and most of all, he didn’t treat the crowd like many performers who would charge upwards of $100 a ticket. We could’ve been kicking around in a smaller club venue for all we knew.

Picking out highlights from this show is a tough one; “February Song”, “Machine” and “To Where You Are” stick out in my memory, though it was in his cover of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová’s “Falling Slowly” and “I Believe (When I Fall in Love it Will Be Forever)”, that I first noticed the women next to me in tears. I spent a lot of the show marvelling at the hold Groban has over large masses of people; he was earning screams, bouquets of flowers from a little girl in the front row and only had to introduce “You Raise Me Up” to once again, make the females next to me bawl their eyes out. I didn’t doubt for a second that he wasn’t worthy of the praise as clearly, the man possesses a natural gift, but I felt like I should have found him more arrogant or fame-wallowing than he was. A multi-talented instrumentalist, if Groban wasn’t behind the piano or pacing back and forth bellowing out songs, he’d be behind a drum kit or directly interacting with members of the crowd as if it were just the two of them in the room.

“I love how you say ‘this Josh guy’, like he’s not a super megastar in most countries…” reads the text message from my housemate after I text her to say how unexpectedly funny I found him; I wondered if I’ve just become desensitised to the calibre of some of the artists’ I see these days or if Groban, having been doing these sorts of shows for years now, just naturally feels at home in the company of thousands enough to do away with any ego.

I’m going to go with the latter. Definitely a five star show.

 Review of  Vector Arena New Zealand Concert. Reviewer wasn’t as impressed.

Ahh, the life of a concert reviewer is a strange one. Less than 48 hours ago I was rocking out to Robert Plant as he performed a searing version of Led Zeppelin’s Rock & Roll. Now, I’m in the same venue, sitting politely among a somewhat more sedate and well-dressed crowd, waiting for the operatic baritone Josh Groban to take the stage.

Although this is the multi-platinum recording star’s first visit to New Zealand, the Vector has been cut down to a more “intimate” size to adjust for the small-ish turnout. Now, I think that it’s probably no surprise to anyone who knows me that Josh Groban’s style isn’t exactly my cup of tea, but he obviously connects with a good number of people, so I’ll just leave it at that.

The show began with the 8-piece string and horn section (all local musicians) taking the stage with the house lights still up. Then four backing singers appeared and stood awkwardly to the side of the stage waiting for the rest of the band (and Groban) to emerge. This resulted in a brief face-off between the singers and the audience, neither quite sure what to do.

Before too long Josh Groban and his band strode out onto the stage. The band consisted of a drummer, percussionist, keyboard player, bassist and guitarist. Long-time guitarist Tarigh Akoni was on hand was regular bass player Andre Manga.

They quickly launched into two songs from Groban’s new album, All That Echoes…Brave and False Alarms. The famous voice seemed a little rusty during the first song, but quickly gained form by the second. The backing singers disappeared and where never seen or heard from again.

The avuncular Groban then addressed his fans, apologizing for taking so long to get to New Zealand, referring to Robert Plant’s similar sentiment two night’s prior (apparently I wasn’t the only person to attend both shows). It’s clear that the man knows how to win an audience over. He told a self-effacing story of how he tweeted that he “just ate the most delicious kiwi” referring to the fruit, not the bird. Thankfully.

After Alejate (Go Away), he hopped into the crowd to conduct a few interviews with audience members and received a big kiss from one adoring fan.

Then, two songs later, he was playing talk show host, reading out questions that audience members had provided before the show. The Q&A included subjects like Josh’s best pick-up line and his favourite part of New Zealand. I must admit, not being much of a fan of his music, I was appreciative of the between-song banter. No doubt Groban himself is aware of the many audience members who have been dragged out to see him by their partners and this is his way of saying thank you.

One of the musical highlight came in the form of Groban’s cover of Jimmy Webb’s The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress. Perhaps that because I can still remember Webb’s own version of the song being perform in Auckland several years ago…let’s just say that Jimmy Webb is a much better songwriter than singer.

About halfway through the set Josh left the stage to let the band have a go at Paul McCartney’s Live And Let Die, then Groban returned to participated in a brief drum solo before getting back to business with Voce Existe Em Mim, from his Rick Rubin-produced 2010 album, Illuminations.

He then followed with a couple of covers…Glen Hansard’s Falling Slowly, from the film Once, and Don McLean’s Vincent (Starry, Starry Night). It was during these two songs that I realized why I don’t care for Groban’s style. His full-throated vibrato and operatic approach is exactly wrong from personal, intimate songs like Vincent and Falling Slowly. The overall effect is to diminish the emotional connection of the song with the audience, rather than enhance it. In this case, a more restrained vocal would be much more effective.

But I’m sure I was in the minority here.

Better suited to Groban are big power ballads like To Where You Are and You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up). And Machine, from 2006’s Awake was almost funky in a Peter Gabriel sort of way.

Groban closed the set with Stevie Wonder’s I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever) accompanied by a 15-person local choir called The Stellar Singers.

For an encore, Josh sat at the piano and sang Awake, the song which he claimed was the audience’s number one request, then closed the show with a big sing-along version of You Raise Me Up.

The audience was clearly moved. So who’s to say their obvious rapture during You Raise Me Up was any more relevant than mine during Robert Plant’s Rock & Roll? Different strokes for different folks. In the end, music is indeed a universal language.

Review of Auckland Concert in New Zealand

April 15, 2013, 6:22 am Stacey Hunt Yahoo! New Zealand

Eleven years since his last New Zealand visit, Josh Groban was back in Auckland on Saturday night and it seemed his ardent fans were more than ready for the classical pop crooner to take to the stage.

With the stage at Vector Arena brought forward there was more of an intimate vibe than other concerts at the venue.

With Groban’s music being slightly different to what I would normally listen to, and me being about 20 years younger than the majority of the audience, I knew the show would be a bit of an education. What I didn’t realise was that I’d be getting a side of comedy along with the music.

Opening with ‘Brave’, a single from his most recent album ‘All That Echoes’, Groban was joined by a local orchestra and choir in addition to his usual band. Dressed in black pants and white shirt on a simply laid out stage, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a show about theatrics but rather purely the incredible voice and music that he has become known by.

After his first song we were given our first taste of his sense of humour. Fortunately he’s one performer who appears to love interacting with the audience and these interludes between the music not only had everyone in fits of laughter but probably had every female falling in love with him a little bit more. In stark contrast to his music style his hilarious banter with the audience came as somewhat of a surprise to me.

Thanking the audience for waiting so long for him to return, he said he had no excuse for his 11-year absence. Unlike the ones Robert Plant made a few days prior, Groban put his down to the fact he’s just lazy. With such a long gap between shows here, there’s six albums New Zealand hasn’t heard live. So it was put to fans via social media which songs they would like to hear and the set list was created around these requests.

‘February Song’ and ‘Alijate’ were subsequently real crowd pleasers. Although to be fair he probably could have sung anything and most of the crowd would have been happy. ‘February Song’ gave us the opportunity to see more of his musical talents with him taking to the piano. Later we would be entertained with his drumming.

Coming down into the audience to meet with some fans between songs Groban may have got more than he bargained for with one lady rushing from the back to launch herself at him. Taking it all in good nature, Groban jokingly reprimanded his bodyguard, asking him what the hell he paid him for. After chatting with a husband and wife who had been married for 35 years and asking how many other audience member were on dates, he launched into his next song, ‘Happy In My Heartache’ – a song all about being dumped.

The remainder of the concert continued in what is obviously his style – a laugh, a joke, a beautiful song – rinse and repeat. He featured plenty more of his hits such as ‘The Moon is a Harsh Mistress’, ‘Falling Slowly’, ‘Vincent’, ‘Below the Line’ and the hugely popular ‘To Where You Are’, made famous through featuring on ‘Ally McBeal’.

Throughout the evening Groban took time out to answer questions fans had submitted via social media. His New Zealand fan base certainly put some interesting questions to him including ‘if you were a female for a day what would you do?’.

With legions of fans (mostly female) it was unsurprising to learn Groban is inundated with gifts when he tours. Mentioning some he has been given in New Zealand, he proudly showed us the kiwi socks he was wearing, which in fact looked suspiciously like pukeko.

Joined at the end of the show by local choir the Stellar Singers. Groban closed with Stevie Wonder’s ‘I Believe When I Fall in Love it Will be Forever’. It was an incredibly beautiful rendition of the song and one that no doubt had many in the audience envisioning him singing it to them.

After receiving a standing ovation, Groban came back for an encore, singing the song most requested by fans on social media, ‘Awake’. And seeing as it wouldn’t have been a Josh Groban concert without it, he went out on the hugely popular ‘You Raise Me Up’, inviting the audience to join in.

With the audience seemingly in high spirits it was a great note to end on and the whoops and cheers from the crowd were as good an indicator as any as to how much the show was enjoyed. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I did enjoy it. It was two hours of great music and comic genius and a night I would recommend to both fans and non-fans alike.

Josh Groban

By Adrien Taylor

Reporter

Pop-opera singer Josh Groban is the kind of artist your mother would love, but don’t be fooled – he’s a bad man.

Groban plays his first ever New Zealand show in Auckland tomorrow night, and he warns there might be some nudity involved.

Groban hadn’t even been in the country for 24 hours when he had to explain himself after tweeting he’d eaten a kiwi.

“I got a fruit bowl in my room and there was a kiwifruit in there, but in the States we just call it kiwi, you know,” he explains.

“So I kinda had to do some damage control, ’cause unfortunately thousands of fans thought that I’d actually devoured one of your endangered birds or one of your locals. I’m not a cannibal, I’m not a horrible human being, I was just hungry for a little bit of fruit.”

And it’s that nice guy image and velvety voice that makes women the world over go crazy for him. He’s sold over 25 million albums and says not taking himself too seriously is part of his success.

“My shows are kinda like those all-inclusive shows in Jamaica where there are sections in the audience where you can decide to sit nude or you can just observe,” he says.

“It’s so funny doing this with you cause I’ll just say the most creeptastic things and you’ll just sit there and go [nods] … There’s no breaking you.”

Groban says he has plans to collaborate with two of our own – Flight of the Conchords duo Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement.

“The thing that we’re collaborating on is a top secret cameo for something that we’re working on that’s going to be released sometime next year,” he says.

Groban says he’s enjoyed having a wee look around here ahead of his show at Auckland’s Vector Arena tomorrow night, and he has no regrets about the kiwifruit scandal.

“It was delicious. I’ll eat kiwis until I leave. I’ll take kiwis home with me and eat them at home, I don’t even care.”

A chat with Josh Groban

April 12, 2013, 3:25 pm Sarah Mason Yahoo! New Zealand

Josh Groban’s touched down in New Zealand ahead of his first ever Kiwi show – we took a moment with the classical pop crooner, sometimes actor, and self-confessed ‘goofball’, to chat about his love of wine, what’s around the corner, who he’d take on a dinner date, and the possibility of finding ‘The One’ in New Zealand.

What’s the main inspiration behind your music?

For me, music is my ultimate form of communication. I’m not the most emotional person in day to day life, so when I’m able to express myself through song it gives me a chance to kind of tell certain stories, the experiences I’ve had with life, with love, throughout the years and in a way that I feel is very centred and honest and that I may keep more guarded or more private if I were just having a conversation.

What do you like to do when you’re chilling out?

I’m a big tennis fan, I play three to four times a week and it clears my head. I’m a geek for wine too, I’ll take road trips with my dog (Wheaten Terrier Sweeney) to Napa and do wine tasting. I have ideas of these grand vacations I’d like to take but whenever I have a moment free I kind of wind up having a staycation (staying at home), getting into a good book or catching up with friends or my dog. My life is such a circus, when I’m back I just want to be boring because I know if I blink my eyes I’m going to be back out circling the globe. I’m very fortunate that my job is so exciting, when I have downtime I don’t feel like I need to take that adventure.

Are there any other careers you’ve considered?

I wanted to be vet at one point. I love animals, but I was probably not smart enough in the sciences and I don’t think I’ve got a very good surgery hand. Or a train conductor – I think I’d be very happy sitting in the front of a train and just conducting the c*** out of it.

What other projects do you have in the pipeline?

I have a couple of things I filmed last year coming out, a cameo in a major film that I can’t really tell you much more about, and a role in an independent comedy called ‘Coffee Town’. Whenever that kind of thing comes around it’s a little pleasure to take a break from the music side for a few weeks. I’m not really into huge starring roles right now, maybe down the line it would be fun.

I’m happiest when…

I’m with my family.

Give us three words to describe yourself

Perfectionist, goofball, hungry

What’s the craziest thing a fan has ever done?

Get my face tattooed on her arm. I was very flattered, there’s nothing like a good face tattoo on your arm to pressure you into continuing your career for another 20 years.

Tell us something about you not many people would know

I crack my knuckles

Who’s your ultimate celeb crush and why?

(50’s pin-up) Bettie Page. She was basically the woman all the World War 2 soldiers painted on their airplanes. I think that [era] was the greatest sexiest style.

Is there someone who’s still alive?

There are a few but I’ll probably run into them at some point, I can’t get myself into trouble. I actually might have a chance with them.

If you could take anyone to dinner, who would it be?

I would love to take Bob Marley out to dinner and pick his brain about the world. I have a feeling we’d have a very fun time.

Are you attached or looking for love?

I’m looking for love. I haven’t found it at the moment, maybe because I’m too busy taking Bob Marley out for dinner and dreaming about pin-ups who are no longer alive. I’ve met some wonderful women in my life and have had some very lucky relationships, but when you’re travelling as much as I am it’s really hard to get to know somebody that way.

Maybe you’ll find a nice Kiwi girl?

I think that might be a must.

Blondes or brunettes?

Oh you’re getting me in trouble here. The immediate thing that comes to mind is brunettes but more than half of my relationships have been with blondes. I really don’t have a type.

Do you have a message for your Kiwi fans?

I’m beyond thrilled that they don’t hate me with a passion for not having toured there yet! We’re just so excited to be there finally and are looking forward to a kickass show and possibly drinking lots and lots of wine with them later. I’m going to have to try the sauvignon blanc.

Josh Groban is performing at Auckland’s Vector Arena tomorrow night (Saturday April 13), tickets are available from Ticketmaster

His latest album ‘All That Echoes’ is out now

Groban is all grown up

LUCY GIBSON, The West AustralianUpdated April 5, 2013, 3:30 pm

Groban is all grown up

Josh Groban, by his own admission, has always been “kind of a bit weird” in people’s minds. The US multi-platinum-selling singer has been labelled everything from a “popera heart-throb” to “babe of the baritones” and his style of music, not to mention his influences – ranging from Radiohead to Caruso – have made him an enigma to the press, and even himself.

But 12 years on from making his self-titled debut album – and subsequently winning the hearts of middle-aged women around the world – 32-year-old Groban says he’s finally comfortable with his place on the music scene.

“I think my mind and my voice are starting to balance out,” the affable singer says over the phone from his home in Los Angeles.

“When I was 17, 18, I was this super-immature kid but I had this very mature voice and I was getting letters from a fan base that was two or three times my age.

“I was just thrown into a very mature world very quickly and in a way I wasn’t prepared or ready for it.

“I was singing this very mature music and then I would go home and watch South Park and play video games.”

Groban has gone far since being thrust into the limelight by talk show host Rosie O’Donnell, who was made aware of the singer’s talents during rehearsals for the 1998 Grammy Awards.

When he stood in for a sick Andrea Bocelli to rehearse The Prayer with Celine Dion, awards host O’Donnell liked what she saw, invited him on her show a week later and the rest, of course, is musical history.

Over the years his talents have taken him from the studio to great sporting arenas – he’s performed at the closing ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics and sang the national anthem at the 2004 Super Bowl – the same year as Janet Jackson and “nipplegate”.

Six albums and 25 million record sales later, Groban says his sound has grown into a good harmony of the old and the new.

“And mentally, I feel I am in a place where I am singing like my age,” he says, “and that’s a really comfortable place to be.”

Not bad for a guy who started out thinking he would become an actor.

“When I was in high school, I thought it was going to be what I did full-time,” says Groban, who dropped out of drama at university four months into the first semester.

“I realised that I was better at singing but I am thrilled that the acting world has come back into my life naturally.”

Indeed, life has a funny way of turning full circle, with Groban in recent years landing several acting gigs, including on the US TV series The Office and playing the guy Emma Stone’s character ditches in favour of Ryan Gosling’s chiselled-chested Romeo in Crazy, Stupid, Love.

“There are very few other men in the world that I would be OK with stealing my girl and Ryan Gosling is one of them,” Groban laughs.

Currently single – he previously dated Mad Men actress January Jones – Groban certainly won’t be short of attention when he hits our shores later this month, given his army of devoted fans known affectionately as Grobanites.

He last toured Australia in 2007 and since then has released two albums: 2010′s Illuminations and All That Echoes, which made its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in February. All That Echoes features seven of his own songs, including opening track Brave, along with covers such as Stevie Wonder’s I Believe and Glen Hansard’s Oscar-winning Falling Slowly.

“I’m not thinking about one album specifically, I’m just thinking about hitting the stage in a country I haven’t been in a while and saying ‘Nice to meet you’, all over again with my show,” Groban says of what fans can expect from his show.

“When you visit a place you haven’t been to in so long all the rules are out the window. You get out there and basically want to connect.”

Groban has bittersweet memories of his first trip to Australia 10 years ago, when he contracted strep throat on the flight over.

“I remember feeling a combination of complete wonderment of the country, the natural beauty, the people, the food . . . and I also remember being really sick,” he recalls.

“In my mind and in my heart I was beaming with joy to be there but in my throat I was swallowing razor blades.”

His last trip was fortunately a much happier and healthier experience, with Groban developing a taste for chilli mussels when he was in Perth.

“Every time I come to Australia I get a perma-grin,” he says. “It’s been six years since I was last there so I think it’s time for a refresher.”

Interview from Canada after Josh appeared on the anadian version of the Voice

Translated by Jonna

http://7jours.ca/television/entrevues/entrevue-avec-josh-groban-apres-son-passage-ila-voixi#.UVOVLLDjUf0.email

(Interview from 7 Jours magazine in Quebec) Josh Groban  —  Impressed by the Quality of the Candidates

Last Sunday, Josh Groban gave a great performance opening “La Voix,” together with the candidates of the show. The international artist, who sold more than 25 million records, was impressed by their talent.

- Josh, how did you find the candidates of the Quebec version of “The Voice”?

Before singing with them, I prepared by watching previous shows. All the candidates are really unbelievable! Everyone has their own unique style and voice.

- How is the Quebec version different from the American version?

First, it’s in French, which in itself is very different. (laughs) But seriously, I’m glad to see that the spirit of “The Voice” is intact and that competition is based first and foremost on vocal skills.

- The candidates told us that you were going to have a beer together after the show?

Yes, this is what we planned. I hope I won’t have a bad influence on them; I would hold that against me. I don’t have to sing this week, but they do. (laughs)

- Just like you, Etienne Cousineau sings both classical and pop music. What do you think of his voice?

Wow! His voice is a gift! I can’t think of any other man who can sing this high! And now that I think of it, I don’t know of any woman either. I think that, no matter who will win the contest, he will record a fantastic album where classical and pop music co-exist.

- You are mostly known as a singer, but you are also a comedian. You did an excellent job in the movie “Crazy Stupid Love” with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling

. Thanks! Comedy is my way to counter the seriousness of classical music. And playing a character allows me to take a vacation from myself! (laughs) I like to act, but only small roles. Unfortunately I can’t be leave the music business for three to four consecutive months during a shooting – my schedule doesn’t allow for that. But that’s ok. I don’t want to be offered lead roles just because I’m known as a singer.

- You are single. In the “Le journal de Montréal”, you said that you preferred Canadian women from Toronto to American women from Los Angeles? What do you think of Quebec (=French Canadian) women?

I arrived here last night, so I would really be “taking the fast approach” if I could already give you a detailed report of my appreciation of Quebec women. I will have to come back to see you again (he probably means the female interviewer) to fall under the spell of the local women.

- Will you be back soon?

Yes, this fall, after my tour in Europe and New Zealand. The date will be announced shortly. It is always a pleasure to sing here

German interview that was translated by Jonna, 3/23/13 The link is for the German.

German interview (part 1) “I’m actually a really tough guy”

He looks completely harmless, but really is “hard as steel” (or so he says): baritone Josh Groban About his image as a softie, his new CD “All That Echoes”, why he rides his bike and not a Harley, and how he paid back Michael Bublé for imitating him on stage. Curly brown hair, bedroom eyes and a baritone voice you are not likely to forget – this is the secret recipe of the six albums of US singer Josh Groban. His songs are a crossover of pop and classical music. His new album “All That Echoes” is out this Friday and the 32-year-old will be presenting it at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt on June 7, 2013.

Please tell me three things about yourself that you can’t find on Wikipedia. I can bend my fingers as if they had no bones and were jello. I love motorbikes, but my Mom doesn’t want me to have one. I take my music very seriously, but I don’t take myself seriously.

Why is this so important? Because I think people don’t see me as a normal 32-year-old but as a classical snob. My fans know that this is not who I am. I jump on every occasion to do silly things. For I’m easy going and chill when I’m not singing.

During a Michael Bublé concert, you once went on stage to imitate him singing. That was so much fun! I had learned back then that he was making jokes about me every evening, something like: and now I’ll do Josh Groban for you… Then he started to imitate my classical singing. So I just turned things around. His facial expression spoke volumes. Michael was visibly embarrassed and it was very satisfying for me since he is not easily taken aback.

Is there actual competition between the two of you? Not at all. We are both singers who were discovered by the same guy, David Foster. But our music is totally different.

How do you explain that you are well-known throughout the United States but that it takes a longer warm-up phase here? I’m part of a genre that is hard to understand as it is a crossover between pop and classical music. But I have to say that the passion and energy of the European fans rather boosts my ego than diminishes it. I recall my last concert in Frankfurt and I was expecting a more reserved audience compared to the arenas in the States. But people were stomping their feet and there were banners on the balconies, which probably is contrary to any opera etiquette.

(part 2)

Does it not take a while to get used to your vibrato for the average music listener? Seriously, if somebody doesn’t like vibrato at all, then I would be surprised to see them at my concert. For this would be as if they went to see Metallica and then said that they can’t stand loud music. Many traditional German songs are also sung with vibrato, for example Bavarian drinking songs. But maybe it is because of today’s world of pop music, where each song is made to fit a formula and you don’t often hear vibrato.

For your new album, you worked with Rob Cavallo, who also produced the rock band Green Day. Were you afraid you would sound too soft? No, not at all. I have a very loud voice by nature and like to show it off. And since my last album was more on the softer side, I wanted this album to reflect the live shows – it is very energetic. But Rob Cavallo didn’t try to make my album a rock album. For me, it is the perfect combination of classical music and modern songs.

When it’s your voice on an album, it clearly and unmistakably is a Josh Groban album. Thanks, I’ll take that as a compliment. I can recognize all my favorite singers after five seconds. And that’s the way it should be.

Are you actually more of a softie in private, too? No, because let’s be honest: guys that play the tough guy on stage every night prefer to ride ponies in their spare time. I have to be a softie on stage, but I’m actually a really tough guy.

How do women like these opposites/discrepancies? You have to ask them. I’m single at the moment. Actually I’m always single when a new album comes out.

Are you so picky or what’s the problem? Well, I’m rarely at the same location for more than 24 hours, but that is actually a prerequisite for a relationship. I’m ok being single while I’m waiting for love to come my way. I’m a very independent person and like to be alone. I’m also somewhat of a workaholic. I like working because then I feel like I’m doing something useful.

Has your mother started nagging yet? She surely would like to have grandchildren, but she will have to be patient for a while. My brother is also not married yet – well, he’s also four years younger. But the Groban men need their time.

Why does your mother not want you to ride a motorbike? Because she knows I would be a speeder, a real speed devil! And I don’t do anything that would make her cry. Which is why I’m riding my bike in New York.

Josh Groban: All That Echoes

By: Casey Hicks

Josh Groban

All That Echoes

(Reprise Records)

Dear Josh Groban, I owe you an apology. I have known of your music for the past decade, but with your easy listening, soaring vocals, I have never given your music a chance. I figured if you could hit operatic notes, you were obviously talented, but maybe not my style. But your latest album, All That Echoes, has hit the top of the Billboard charts, and I can see why. I like you, Josh, and I’m sorry I didn’t realize it sooner.

On paper, All That Echoes seems like it wouldn’t work. It’s a combination of original songs and covers, modern and traditional, English language and other. However, it does hold together. It does so well. Groban’s voice and string accompaniment is just so damn charming that it’s impossible to refuse the catchiness.

I did expect to have uplifting songs like lead single “Brave” (“You can’t hide forever from the thunder/Look into the storm and feel the rain”) and more operatic offerings like “E Ti Promettero,” a duet featuring the lovely Laura Pausini. But this rises above the anticipated. Groban’s cover of “Falling Slowly,” made famous by the film and musical Once and The Swell Season, is string-heavy and delicate, stripped back to a solo performance from a duet. This leads into another Irish track, the traditional folk song, “She Moved Through the Fair.” It’s a clever transition and one that made me pay attention.

As far as covers go, I was most struck by “Hollow Talk,” with its lyrics like “Spatial movements and butterflies/Shadows scatter without a fight.” Clearly this is a man who’s not just out to affect the mom sorts. His covers of “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress” and “I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)” are likewise individual and touching. I’m sorry I overlooked you before, Josh. You can sing to m

Wherever He Travels Next, Josh Groban’s Probably Staying at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel

Where: New York, NY, United States

March 21, 2013 at 1:17 PM | by juliana

Yesterday our little bro, Jaunted, reported that singer Josh Groban is exactly the type of celeb you want to have on your flight, especially when the plane is delayed due to a little bad weather. Josh tweeted out to his fans that the Virgin America plane he was on needed a little good “juju.” Soon after doing that, the pilot came on the speaker and said the juju worked and the plane was now ready to take off. Ah, the power of Grobanites!

Naturally, we had to wonder–if Josh likes to fly Virign America, where did he like to spend the night? Yes, this is some hard-hitting journalism right here.

We did a little sleuthing and found this article from the Telegraph which said that Josh frequented one Central Park in NYC so much that they gave him a fruit bowl for his 65th stay (and um, we hope a free stay for the future too.)

After that we found a clip of Josh arriving at the Ritz-Carlton, New York back in 2009. We also found some snaps of him outside the hotel in 2005. We can’t say for sure that this is hotel that Josh frequented so much in NYC, but in doing a little more research, we found that Josh is totes a Ritz-Carlton lover.

In 2008, he gave an interview saying that the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco was the best hotel for his dog:

They had two bowl of treats ready and a giant dog bed. Sweeney jumped on it and was like, Mine! They had a gourmet dog menu with fresh chicken and rice dishes. I thought, am I really going to pay $30 for room service for my dog? Then I said, ‘You know what? It’s not like a cat with nine lives.’ So yes, he was spoiled.

Earlier this month, Josh shacked up in a suite at the Ritz-Carlton, Toronto during a publicity stop for his new album. We also tracked down a fan comment from February that had Josh sighted at the Ritz-Carlton in Paris. Of course, there’s no Ritz-Carlton in Paris and the Hotel Ritz is closed for renovations but just the mention of a Ritz-Carlton is close enough for us.

So Grobanites if Josh is headed your way and there’s a Ritz-Carlton nearby, you could be in luck for a sighting of the dreamy man with the dreamy voice. But you know, be cool about it, ok?

Beyond the perfection, however, (he has sold more than 25 million albums and has been both Oscar and Grammy nominated) is a quirky, zany character dying to get out.

He has shown glimpses of it. There have been his hilarious star turns on (including presenting) Never Mind The Buzzcocks, an appearance on Glee, as well as a role in the film Crazy, Stupid Love and his spoof singing of the bizarre and often ridiculous tweets of Kanye West on Jimmy Kimmel’s US chat show.

He concedes he is an “unlikely superstar”, yet he is chums with Barbra Streisand, has dated Mad Men actress January Jones, is friends with Katy Perry and takes tea with Sir Tim Rice whenever he in London. They have discussed working together and he would love to do a musical (“It was what I was meant to do”).

“I am so not showbiz,” he says, almost recoiling at the thought.

Some would beg to differ with this 32-year-old. In the flesh, he is at turns geeky, preppy, playful and earnest.

Perhaps it is down to the music he sings: a blend of pop/opera (“popera”) which wrongfoots people. His latest offering, the album All That Echoes, will certainly appeal to his many devoted fans although he has never taken success for granted.

“I was still a teenager singing very grown-up music,” he says of being signed aged 17.

“These songs were creating these big emotional moments for people twice my age and it was very hard for me to grasp that. I was on a bit of a pedestal and that was nerve-wracking. I was scared it was going to go away the next month’.

“I still feel like I can’t rest on my laurels. What I can do now is view it in a more Zen way.” One way he achieves this is by seeing a therapist once a week. “It’s a very New York thing,” he says. “It is somebody to vent to rather than offload on to your friends.

“I have always been really good at working hard. I think I neglect taking breaks. I could spend more time recharging and relaxing. When it is just me I don’t feel so bad about it but when I am in a relationship and my family is feeling left out then I say: ‘OK it is time to take a break’.”

He has recently come out of a relationship and is well aware of the challenges of dating him. “It’s difficult,” he says. “I am very married to my work. I don’t think I will ever stop what I do and when I can’t I’ll find a way to do it again. That is how I’m made and that narrows your search options.

“I have dated people in the industry and been the one twiddling my thumbs as they go off and conquer the universe and I know how that feels and it’s not fun. I am still very much a romantic at heart and I am still very much dating but it is very hard to meet people.”

I get the cigarette twitch for Twitter because I can’t smoke, I don’t do drugs, I can’t drink much. I have to find little vices.

Josh Groban

One way he takes the edge off the sometimes “lonely road” of touring is using social media. He is quite an advocate of Twitter and it allows him to keep in touch with his many fans (the more extreme of which bear the nickname “Grobanites” with great pride and shower him with gifts).

“It can get very lonely but technology helps, although I fought it for a good long while,” he says. “It is like saying no to smoking as a child and then somebody gives it to you and you’re like, ‘Woo, I want to do this all the time’.

“I get the cigarette twitch for Twitter because I can’t smoke, I don’t do drugs, I can’t drink very much so I have to find little vices and Twitter is one of them. There is a camaraderie I have with my followers and it is a good way to show a little of the zany side of your personality.”

Yet there are downsides that even he can see with social media.

“In the past, with fewer opportunities to meet people, people had more longevity in their relationships,” he says, referring to his parents who have been together for 47 years and allowed him to have a “Norman Rockwell” upbringing with his mother, who was a schoolteacher, his father, who was in business, and his brother, who is now also in the entertainment industry.

“With Twitter and Facebook we have become really ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) for not just romantic connections but friendship connections,” he says.

“Social media has become an addiction because as human beings we have this grass-is-always-greener-mentality and this feeling of: ‘What am I missing?’ The dirty secret of course is, ‘Not much.’”

Josh with some of his fans, who call themselves Grobanites and follow his life online

Whiling away the hours on tour also allows him to indulge in learning new tricks (he loves magic) and how to play new musical instruments of which he has quite a collection at his home in New York.

“I have been watching YouTube trying to learn to play the bagpipes,” he says as if that was the most pedestrian pastime to have.

“At some point it will be a beautiful noise but at the moment it is just, ‘eh, eh, eh.’ It’s that in-between period between being very good and a beginner, like puberty: a very awkward place to be but I bet the cats are thrilled: finally someone is speaking their language!”

Groban, who can see the absurdity of communing with the feline community, bursts out into fits of laughter as he riffs on this theme which reveals another tantalising glimpse of that comedian lurking within.

Think You Know Josh Groban? Think Again

In an interview, the singer/actor talks about popera, dating and his upcoming album

READ MOREBy Mickey Rapkin

“I can’t believe you can’t say tits on PBS.”

These are basically the first words that spill out of Josh Groban’s mouth as he sits down at the hip Tribeca watering hole Tiny’s to talk about his new album. He’s telling a story about performing in a televised tribute to Marvin Hamlisch and his amusement over a censored lyric. It’s an unexpected introduction to the favorite heartthrob of housewives everywhere. Or then again, maybe it’s not. Because as the evening progresses, a suspicion is confirmed: This opera boy’s public persona couldn’t be further from his real-life game.

Groban is that rare artist who is as welcome at Lincoln Center as at Rick Rubin’s house, as likely to sing a duet with Barbra Streisand as to appear in a skit on Jimmy Kimmel Live (where he memorably set Kanye West’s absurdist tweets to music: “I make awesome decisions in bike stores.”). Groban’s latest record, All That Echoes (released last month), was produced by Rob Cavallo—better known for his work with hard-charging bands like Green Day and My Chemical Romance than with baritones. Ask Groban where he met Cavallo, and he’ll tell you slyly: “At a dinner party at Kid Rock’s place… as you do.”

The Book of Groban started when he was discovered as a teenager by the producer David Foster, who sent him to fill in for an ailing Andrea Bocelli at a rehearsal with Céline Dion for the 1999 Grammy Awards. Rosie O’Donnell happened to be in the room and booked him for her show, and he became a “popera” sensation overnight. Groban has since sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, earning the enduring love of the Obama White House, Gayle King and a legion of rapture-ready fans calling themselves “Grobanites.” But if you’ve been paying close attention, you’ve seen glimpses of that other Josh Groban in the wings all along. You know, the smart comedy nerd and undercover ladies’ man who dated Mad Men‘s January Jones for three years and weathered a rumored dalliance with Katy Perry (though neither has ever gone on the record about it). And while music remains his first love, he’s been making serious inroads in Hollywood, too, meeting with David Letterman’s company, Worldwide Pants, about collaborating on a daytime talk show (their idea) and playing Emma Stone’s douche-bag boyfriend in Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Regarding acting, he says with a smile, there’s often some push-back from casting directors. “I’m always the long shot. I walk in there and they go, ‘We played your song at my mom’s funeral. Now make us laugh.’” He’s happy to play the fool—he finds the Twitter account “Josh Groban’s Hair” to be ridiculous fun—but rest assured, he’s in on the joke.

The perception of him as a “classical crossover” is a very real obstacle, and one that makes him bristle. Sitting in a corner table upstairs at Tiny’s, a spot he’s visited enough that he suggests ordering the duck duo, Groban explains: “I hate the word popera. People assume if there’s an orchestra, it’s not for them. Or that it’s stuffy and the personalities behind it must go home and think how great their music is and how everything else is beneath them.” Being shoved into a box that doesn’t quite fit clearly rankles him. “The main misconception,” he says above the restaurant’s alt-rock sound track, “is that I’m not a normal 32-year-old guy.” When pressed for proof, he runs through a litany of “unlikely” happenings in his life. Like the time he and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers collaborated on a duet of “Ave Maria.” Or how he wrote a “party anthem” for hard-core rocker Andrew W.K. Or how Mindy Kaling reached out via Twitter to offer him a guest spot on The Office. Or what the vibe is like at Kid Rock’s epic dinner parties. “He’ll invite a teacher he met in Brooklyn, then someone from the Beastie Boys, a professor and me. We’ll all sit at this long table and have political conversations. Then we’ll get drunk and dance on his stripper pole.”

Groban isn’t fronting for a writer’s benefit. He’s just proud of the eclectic world he’s made while swimming upstream in an industry that’s seen healthier days. His latest album is a stab at amping up the slumbering genre he’s been shoehorned into. “The genre’s become almost like spa music,” he says. “It’s almost New Age. It’s lacking a rhythm.” Not so on this disc. Recorded at Ocean Way studios  on Sunset Boulevard—where Green Day recorded American IdiotAll That Echoes is a mash-up of sweeping ballads (“E Ti Prometerro”), SoulCycle-ready guilty pleasures (“Brave”) and emotionally executed covers (“Falling Slowly,” from Once). The recording process had a throw-everything-at-the-wall approach, with Groban playing drums on a redo of Stevie Wonder’s “I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)” and covering an obscure track by a Danish indie band, Choir of Young Believers. It was also a damn good time.

“The cool thing about working in one studio space every day is that lots of people wind up coming in,” he says. “Who’s next door? Oh, it’s like, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Or the remaining members of the Wu-Tang Clan.” Groban’s 7-year-old Wheaten terrier, Sweeney, would wander down the hallways exploring the other studios. “He’d come back and his fur would stink of marijuana,” Groban says. “Some rapper would come in and be like, ‘Yo, whose dog is this? He’s adorable!’ ”

The album isn’t just a return to form; it’s also highly confessional. Groban says songwriting is “better than therapy,” and gossip columnists would be wise to listen to “False Alarms,” a strings-heavy ballad about a love gone wrong. “There’s nothing worse in a relationship than realizing you’re more invested than the other person and you have to let it go. It’s that old saying: When you squeeze the sand in your hand and it all falls out…” He declines to say exactly whom the song is about, but it’s a safe bet that we’d recognize her. “She will remain nameless publicly,” he says, standing firm. And he admits the ex in question doesn’t know the song is coming. “I do it Taylor Swift–style,” he says. “I like to surprise them with it.”

Groban is single these days, but he’s open to set-ups. “I heard a phrase I really liked the other day,” he says. “Love should be a friendship on fire. That’s what it should be.” Apparently that wasn’t the case with January Jones; the two split in 2006—and before you ask, he’s not her child’s mystery baby daddy. “I’m pretty certain our breakup [and the child's birth were] enough years apart that that wouldn’t be possible,” he says. Still, Groban acknowledges that as he gets older, his mother has been pestering him to settle down. “How quickly the time passes between the requests ‘Please don’t get her pregnant’ and ‘When are you going to give me a baby?’ My parents take that energy out on my dog. He’s the grand-puppy.”

The artist might not be on the doorstep of fatherhood, but he’s certainly taking a real stab at happiness. Three years ago, he packed up and moved from Los Angeles to New York City, renting uptown before buying a loft in a converted dairy factory in Tribeca. “It was a series of breaking points,” he says. “The very thing that makes L.A. the perfect place for most people is the thing that makes me crazy. I don’t do very well with laid-back. I fester when I’m in Los Angeles. When I’m in New York, I focus on living in the present.” His New York love affair is at times predictable (Central Park, Bouchon Bakery), at times refreshingly nerdy (karaoke in Koreatown). “I do a mean Eddie Vedder,” he says of his sing-along nights. “Later, when everyone has gotten their food, it’s like, ‘You eat your nachos. Let me give you a 10-minute ‘November Rain.’”

It’s not a stretch to say that he’s entering a new phase of his career: He’s an established global brand, but he’s itching to color outside the lines and hopes fans will come with him. To that end, he’s completed a feature film, Coffee Town, written and directed by Arrested Development‘s Brad Copeland and produced by the CollegeHumor guys. Naturally, Groban plays a disgruntled barista, opposite Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights). “There’s a scene where I piss in a cup of coffee,” he says. “I drop the F-bomb quite a few times.” And then there’s a proposed Broadway revival of the musical Chess in 2014; he meets with Tim Rice every couple of months to discuss the project. “We’re serious about it,” he says.

When you’ve sung a duet with Céline Dion before graduating from high school, you know YOLO. What Groban now seems to be, more than anything, is comfortable in his skin. “I started from such a place of uncertainty and insecurity as a terrified 17-year-old. I was a student and a pro at the same time. I was terrified to have a good time, terrified it was all going to go away. Honestly, I feel like I can take ownership of it and enjoy it.”

Josh Groban: ‘Before a date, I always hope the girl hasn’t googled me’

Singer Josh Groban on dating non-celebs and why he loves Irish songwriters, by Ed Power

For two-and-a-half years, he stepped out with Mad Men bombshell January Jones. He is also rumoured to have helped pop sexpot Katy Perry get over her divorce from Russell Brand. When you meet him, your first instinct is to give him a high-five and a bro-hug.

“The nice thing about dating someone in the industry is that they understand the pressures of your schedule,” says Groban who, unlike most celebs, does not go into lockdown the instant conversation strays towards his personal life.

“That bit where you say ‘I love you very much but I have to go and do this now’ … They [other celebrities] understand that. At the same time, they are travelling around the world and you are travelling around the world too. Skype becomes. . . kind of boring after a while.”

Groban has sold 25 million albums and, with his puppy eyes and elegant suits, is regarded as one of showbiz’s most eligible bachelors. In principle he is not opposed to seeing ‘normal’ people, he insists. The problem is that women in the real world don’t always grasp how crazy an A-lister’s schedule can be.

Yes, there’s a glamorous side. Day to day, though, it’s mostly just work, work work.

“I travel so much, and my job demands so much. Sometimes the schedule is just crazy. That said, it is wonderful to go out with someone who does something completely different. You can learn from what they do.”

When romantically involved with a ‘civilian’, Groban tries hard to downplay his fame.

‘I always hope the person hasn’t spent their time googling me before I go on a date. I like to know we are starting on a clean slate. I don’t know them; they don’t know me.”

Groban is a curious sort. His music is pious and frankly rather naff – his 2004 chart-topping cover of ‘You Raise Me Up’ actually manages to out-schmaltz the Westlife version. And yet, off stage he’s quite the dude: self-deprecating, down to earth, really funny. If you’ve ever attended one of his concerts you’ll know how hilarious he can be. Should his music career ever peter out, he could easily make a living from comedy.

In fact, he’s already dipped his toe in Hollywood, having acted in the US version of The Office and on The Simpsons. Most famously of all, he appeared on American late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live singing some of Kanye West’s more outrageous tweets.

The clip was a huge YouTube success, though word is that Mr West was not amused.

“I’m all for doing something funny,” says Groban. “I love off-the-wall humour and taking the piss out of myself. The thing about the Kanye West routine is that it was smart, underneath the silliness. I couldn’t believe the response I was getting from people.

“I hope Kanye understands – it was a celebration of his quirkiness. . . But, you know, Kanye lives in another world.”

Groban (32) grew up in Los Angeles. He eventually fled the city in order to escape the attentions of the paparazzi. Today he lives in New York where, he reports, celebrities have an easier time.

“Los Angles is celebrity obsessed; New York is ability obsessed,” he says. “In New York, you have to be good at something. I like that about New York – if somebody recognises you, it’s because they appreciate what you’ve done.

‘LA, on the other hand, has become a town of celeb-watching.”

Groban says he has a deep affinity with Irish music. You hear this from American musicians all the time. In this case, it might actually be true: on his previous LP he covered Declan O’Rourke’s ‘Galileo’; his new album All That Echoes, meanwhile, offers his take on ‘She Moves Through the Fair’ and ‘Falling Slowly’, Glen Hansard’s weepy ballad from Once.

“I’ve always loved Irish songwriting, since I was little,” he says.

“I discovered ‘Falling Slowly’ through the movie Once. It was the way people in my country were introduced to Glen and Marketa.

“Me and Glen have emailed back and forth a bit. He’s such a nice guy and a talented writer. It’s a goal of mine to explore that connection, maybe write with him. I’d love to do it. Of course I’d have to ask him. You need two people for a collaboration. I know I would get a lot out of it.”

Josh Groban releases February 5th, his highly anticipated 6th studio album All that Echoes via Reprise Records. Produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Paramore), the follow-up to 2010′s Illuminations is a masterpiece and represents everything the music should be. All That Echoes is a stellar blend of classical pop rock songs both progressive, cohesive and extremely inspired. Josh Groban co-wrote 7 of the 12 tracks. The album contains the duet with Laura Pausini on E Ti Promettero.

The excellent first single Brave gives a perfect glimpse of what you can expect for the rest of the songs. The album shows a great musical evolution in Josh Groban‘s music that may surprise (If you are narrow minded) but really expected from a true artist like Josh Groban. The vocals are impressive as usual.

The record explores “.. the old and the new, the light and the dark of live and love .. All that echoes in our souls..” , perfectly expressed musically and lyrically.

He expands his musical palette embracing elements of progressive rock, pop, spanish sounds and more while keeping classical roots. A musical journey recorded live, intense and powerful in which the imagery comes to your mind immediately. His rock influences (including Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull or Fleetwood Mac) are clearly palpable on this album. Josh Groban is accompanied on the record, by drummers Matt Chamberlain (Bruce Springsteen, David bowie), and Abe Laboriel JR (Paul Mc Cartney, Eric Clapton). The rock band behind him , brings Josh Groban a different energy , very contagious , in an upbeat atmosphere, also showing another side of himself like on Below The Line or Happy in My Heartache … All That Echoes is also loaded of memorable songs including my favorites on the album, Brave, False Alarms and the seductive love track Un alma Mas featuring the legendary trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.

The album also contains great five cover songs including Falling Slowly the song from the film Once, Jimmy Webb’s The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Hollow Talk (a 2009 ballad from danish band Choir of Young Believers), I believe (when I Fall in Love it will be Forever from Steve Wonder) and Dave Matthews Band‘ s Satellite (on the Deluxe Edition). He infuses his own personality and style while taking them to another level. Josh’s versions are living up to original songs, adding another twist that grabs attention or sometimes, is better than the original, specially Hollow Talk (in my mind).

In conclusion, if you have to choose one and unique album the next week, I highly recommend you All That Echoes that deserves the top of the charts.

Josh Groban dances on the line between formal crooner and pop singer, and he steps a little too far over both sides – which is probably the best way to keep all of his fans happy.

Groban is all about juxtapositions. The 31-year-old native of Los Angeles is a classical-ish singer with a baritone-ish voice, though he has a spontaneous, witty public persona and has starred in comedic roles in projects ranging from TV’s “The Office” to the film “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” So he’s not the stuffy guy typically associated with his singing style.

Like the vocalist, “All That Echoes” is about accessibility … to a point. First single/opening track “Brave” is uplifting, buttoned-up pop, and Groban only slightly polishes up his covers of Choir of Young Believers’ stark “Hollow Talk” and Glen Hansard/Marketa Irglova’s Oscar-winning “Falling Slowly” (from the movie “Once”).

Elsewhere, Groban picks up the pace with the breezy, Latin-leaning world music track “Below the Line” and even hints at country in the pop-rock ditty “Happy in My Heartache.”

Yet he generally comes across as at least a tad stilted in anything mainstream or casual – such is the burden for a precise, powerful voice – and he sounds much more at home in the lush, piano-driven cover of Jimmy Webb’s “The Moon’s a Harsh Mistress” and singing along with harp and uilleann pipes in his version of the old Irish gem “She Moved Through the Fair.”

And it goes without saying he’s a perfect fit grandstanding in a duet with Italian singer Laura Pausini on “E Ti Promettero.” Romance languages also suit him on another Italian song, the string-laden “Sincera,” as well as the gorgeous Spanish-language “Un Alma Mas” that features searing jazz trumpet by the legendary Arturo Sandoval.

Although Groban’s style can be too fussy, his passion is impressive and his skill is undeniable, both for his vocal delivery and for his business acumen in cultivating and serving a broad audience.

Plus his rousing cover of Stevie Wonder’s “I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)” is an inspiring farewell.

Rating: 3.5 stars (out of five)

BBC ReviewThe LA singer’s voice remains an undeniably rich and powerful instrument.

Nick Levine   2013-02-18

.It’s tempting to dismiss Josh Groban as yet another classical crossover villain: a kind of one-man Il Divo. After all, it was his version of You Raise Me Up that Westlife copied and turned into an X Factor favourite.

Trouble is, the LA-born singer comes across very well in interviews, displaying a playful sense of humour that’s not present in his music.

That said, asking rock producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Paramore) to oversee his sixth album initially sounds like a joke. At the age of 31, is Groban about to swap classical pop for punk and emo tunes?

Thankfully not. He’s sold 25 million records since his 2001 debut and All That Echoes is business as usual.

It begins with a You Raise Me Up-style anthem called Brave, before mixing up savvy cover versions with classy originals, some sung in romantic-sounding foreign languages. As ever, Groban really gets his money’s worth from his string section.

However, the album does contain one or two surprises. Below the Line is basically Groban’s take on Paul Simon’s Graceland sound, which sounds horrific but just about works.

The other highlight is Hollow Talk, a moody ballad with ambiguous lyrics. It’s a welcome test for Groban, whose songs tend to be straightforward and sprinkled with clichés. Images of “wicked winds… blowing through the halls” and “the burning red sun” are typical.

There are no clunkers here, but Cavallo’s production can be crass. When Groban covers She Moved Through the Fair, a traditional Irish folk song, overbearing bagpipes are used to create a vaguely Celtic vibe. Un Alma Más is sung in Spanish so naturally there’s loads of flamenco guitar.

Mostly though, All That Echoes is as hard to take issue against as Groban himself. This singer knows what suits his voice, an undeniably rich and powerful instrument, and uses it without showing off.

Be warned though: his cover of Stevie Wonder’s I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever) is shamelessly cheesy and dangerously effective. Let’s hope Louis Walsh never hears it.

Josh Groban: Never mind the ex-girlfriends, I’m cool with them all

Tuesday 19 Feb 2013 6:00 am Music

Singer Josh Groban 31, is best known for You Raise Me Up. He also appears in the US version of The Office and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. His new album is out this month.

Do you feel a bit of a split personality? Everyone’s mum loves you but you’re quite alternative. You like your Radiohead…

I do but that doesn’t mean that’s what I want to sing. My voice has always been a bit more mature, even when I was 15. And I always liked that sort of music: operatic songs and songs from musical theatre. Now, with shows like Glee it’s cool to like musical theatre.

So you don’t feel like a young man in an old man’s career?

I get to do Never Mind The Buzzcocks, which I love, and The Office and I think that is my way of showing the young guy in me. People hear my music and assume I’m older but I really just like poop humour. I really like coming to England because it’s a wonderful combination of serious and silly.

A bit like Adele… Oh totally! She has that voice and then when I read her interviews, she’s hysterical.

The Stevie Wonder song I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever) is a bit of a highlight on the new album… The verses are actually quite depressing but the chorus is like: ‘Goddammit, when love comes again…’ I don’t like songs that are just happy-go-lucky. True love comes from a lot of pain in your past. You learn who you are; you learn what you want.

Do you ever really learn, though? I can say I learn but I’m still single so apparently not. I’m single again. Newly single. Three or four months.

Are you in a bad place? No, I’ve got travel to distract me and I’m a very independent person. It’s always really fun to fall in love but I’m not putting any pressure on it.

Are you OK with your exes? I was thinking you might not have seen Mad Men because you used to go out with January Jones.

Oh, no, I love Mad Men. And January is still one of my very good friends. I’m not a resentful person. I very rarely develop weirdness with an ex afterwards, after there’s been time for the dust to settle. I never want us to be throwing shoes at each other.

Maybe it would actually be better to do that?

Maybe that’s actually the more healthy thing for us. Maybe we’re a little too passive and maybe that shows we’re not invested enough.

Maybe you’re not tempestuous enough?. Women like that.

Maybe. We’ve had a breakthrough. This was really good. Thank you. You’re helping transform artists. There should be a charity: ‘With just 25p, you can help Josh Groban save the passion in his relationship.’

Of all the people you have duetted with, who’s been the one?

Barbra [Streisand] has been amazing, Celine [Dion] has been amazing, Aretha Franklin was an amazing experience, Beyoncé was a lot of fun to sing with, I sang at the Oscars with Beyoncé. That was kind of cool.

Do you ever think: ‘I am not worthy?’

Of course! I’m absolutely terrified but you think to yourself, I can go one of two ways on this. I can think I’m not worthy and do a real s*** job or I can fake it in my own head and try and walk out of there feeling like: ‘Alright I paid homage to them by doing the best that I could.’ I’m actually going to be singing with Barbra on her next CD. And we’ve been emailing back and forth about what song we should do and I’m reading ‘love Barbra’ and thinking: ‘Hey, that’s Barbra Streisand.’

Who are you into at the moment? I heard Frank Ocean has you on his iPod.

Oh, that’s amazing because I love Frank Ocean. I’ve got him on mine as well. It’s such an inspiring story and just such a great compassionate voice. I really like the new Mumford & Sons album, I love the new Muse album, I like British rock. And I’ve learned to really like dubstep. The first time I heard it I was like: ‘What is this? All these wah-wahs and tsz-tszs. Is this what the world’s coming to?’ Then I was like: ‘Oh, this is alright. This is really great!’ But we are becoming our parents. I’m cranking down the volume in the studio now.

What’s in the future? Marriage? Children?

Eventually.

Divorce?

Eventually. I was very lucky in having parents that are still together after 46 years so there’s no pressure. It’s almost easier…

So when you fall in love, it might be forever.

It might be or maybe I’ve got way too much to live up to and I’m doomed forever. I think a lot of people who have the most successful relationships have them because they don’t want to repeat the mistakes of their parents. Mine were so perfect. Their love and support was so awesome that I think I’m just going to end up single and adopt or something. But if the right woman came along I’d definitely like to get married.

All That Echoes is out on February 25.

Articles explaining why Josh walked off the set of the Jenny McCarthy Show

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/13/jenny-mccarthy-josh-groban_n_2679979.html?utm_hp_ref=tw

Jenny McCarthy and the crew of her new VH1 late-night show, “The Jenny McCarthy Show,” were excited that they landed Josh Groban as a guest on her debut episode. But unfortunately, Josh turned up for the taping last Thursday and then left the building before ever setting foot in front of the camera.

“I was really surprised when Josh Groban left; I mean, it’s not like he’s going on ‘Oprah’s Favorite Things’ — it’s ‘The Jenny McCarthy show,’” Jenny’s funny sidekick, Michelle Buteau, tells The Huffington Post. “It’s laid-back, sexy fun — and tits. What man wouldn’t want to be a part of that?”

Jenny was left on Thursday with a show audience and crew waiting to tape her first episode — but no first guest. VH1 did not respond to a request for comment from The Huffington Post on what happened that upset Josh enough to make him leave.

“Jenny was so amazing that night. She didn’t even flinch — she was a true professional. She thought quickly and pimped her sister,” Michelle reveals about Jenny’s sister and makeup artist, JoJo. “ With her drink in hand and not a hair out of place, home-girl started the show with the same amount of love and energy as she would have done with her original guest. You go girl.”

Some insiders say that Josh was upset when he saw the questions, which reportedly included, “What music do you listen to when you make love?” Others say it was the fact Jenny had stripper poles and dancers on her show that convinced the singer to leave.

A spokesperson for Groban did not return HuffPost’s calls for comment.

Update: “Jenny has no hard feelings and says Josh is welcome to come back anytime,” McCarthy’s rep tells HuffPost.

Tim McGraw, Red and Coheed & Cambria also earn Top 10 debuts

Josh Groban’s “All That Echoes” arrives at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, selling 145,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan. It’s the singer’s third No. 1 album, following 2003′s “Closer” and 2007′s top-seller, “Noel.” His last studio release, 2010′s “Illuminations,” debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 191,000 sold in its first week.

Groban is one of the few artists in the past year to tally a No. 1 album without ever having a top 40 hit single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The others are Chris Tomlin, tobyMac and Jack White (as a solo artist).

While Groban has claimed 17 entries on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart, he’s only visited the overall, all-genre Hot 100 chart four times. His highest-charting Hot 100 hit thus far is 2008′s “The Prayer” (live), a duet with Celine Dion, which reached No. 70.

31-year old Groban hasn’t required crossover top 40 hit singles in order to sustain his music sales, as he reaches consumers through TV performances and other non-traditional means. Impressively, Groban has sold 21.7 million albums in the U.S., making him one of the biggest selling male pop vocalists of the SoundScan era (1991-present).

Q&A: On new album, ‘All That Echoes,’ Josh Groban sings about love lost _ again

By Associated Press,

NEW YORK — Josh Groban enjoyed singing sad songs about a breakup on his last album, 2010’s Rick Rubin-produced “Illuminations.” So when the singer started recording his latest album, which is about another breakup, he changed his approach.

“I’m in a different place, different mindset and the same thing goes — but I wanted the record to feel more energetic, more dynamic, more positive, more rhythmic and uplifting,” he said.

.

“The last record, I was very proud of it, and it was a good record, but it was sad,” he continued. “I was in a very, very tough place. I was going through a lot of changes in my life. I had gone through a really bad breakup. … It felt like I was getting a lot of it out of my system lyrically and musically, so it was a little bit of a sadder record.”

Groban doesn’t have Rubin by his side on “All That Echoes,” out his week. Instead, he’s got Warner Bros. Records chairman and Green Day producer Rob Cavallo.

“For a guy who’s at the top of the label chain to also say, ‘Let’s take chances and let’s make music that just makes us feel really, really good’ was so impressive to me,” Groban said of Cavallo, who has also produced records for the Goo Goo Dolls, My Chemical Romance and Paramore.

Groban, who turns 32 this month, isn’t just building his musical resume: He’ll star as a failed rock band member working as a barista in the upcoming CollegeHumor indie comedy “Coffee Town,” written and directed by “Arrested Development” writer Brad Copeland. The film will be released this year.

The singer talked about “Coffee Town,” singing about relationships, album sales and more in a recent interview.

____

AP: You cover Stevie Wonder’s “I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)” on the album. How’d that come about?

Groban: The reason I think people relate to Stevie Wonder’s love songs is because they really, truly, genuinely make you feel the way you feel, the way love is. Sometimes it’s just “I Just Called to Say I Love You” and it’s really as simple and cheesy as that. And sometimes it’s a song like “I Believe,” which we close the album with, which is that my past has been crap. I’ve missed the mark. I admit it. I’m not perfect. But when love comes my way again, kick up the gospel choir because I’m not going to let it go. … That’s where I am right now, which is that when it comes along again, I’ll be there to grab it.

AP: Is it easy singing about your breakup?

Groban: You’re exorcising the demons a little bit when you sing about love lost and the things that didn’t quite work out. But you learn from that and you grow from that, and there’s often times great art from that. My voice does sad really well, so I think selfishly sometimes it’s more fun to sing the sadder songs just because sometimes the sadder melodies are the most beautiful.

AP: You were 20 when you released your debut in 2001. What’s it like to think about that time as you reflect on your life?

Groban: I was blissfully naive. I’ll tell you, when I was 17 and signed, on the one hand I kind of missed out on having a pretty raucous college experience, where I could wake up on the bathroom floor and say, “All right, not doing that again.” … If I could go back and talk to that kid though, I would just tell him to just chill out a little bit. I was just nervous as all hell. I was really worried a lot. I was anxious a lot.

AP: Your last album went platinum, selling 1 million units, but most of your records have sold 5 million units each. Do you think about record sales a lot?

Groban: I’d be lying if I said that it wasn’t important. It’s your ticket to make the next record and I want to keep doing what I’m doing. But mostly it’s the validation that you’ve done something that people want to have and own.

AP: What was it like working with Rob Cavallo compared with Rick Rubin?

Groban: Rob was a great change of pace in a certain way because he likes to work very much based on riding a wave of energy when it’s there, which is pretty compatible with how I like to work. … And whenever I would have doubts (like), “I don’t know if this is my wheelhouse” or “I don’t know if this is right for my voice,” he’d be great at saying, “I don’t know if you should sing that” or most of the time saying, “Well, shoot, let’s expand what your wheelhouse is.”

AP: You’re building your acting reel. What’s that been like?

Groban: It’s great to let out that other side because the music side is so serious that to be able to have an outlet for your funny bone, for your weird, oddball side is just cathartic for me. And it’s actually what I started doing. I was in improv theater before I even started singing, so the fact that the comedy side is starting to work its way around in my world strangely, considering the kind of music I sing, I’ll take it. It’s wonderful.

AP: Do you want to play a serious role?

Groban: Yeah, sure. I think I’m probably better at comedy, but comedians take serious roles sometimes and it actually goes really well. … I’d love to play a bad guy actually. I’d love to dive in and play some kind of French assassin, like “The Professional.”

By Melissa Ruggieri

Some artists take to the Internet to promote a new release, but Josh Groban is going a bit bigger – like, movie screen big.

The genial pop-classical singer unveils “All That Echoes,” his sixth studio album, on Tuesday, a rich collection of new material and interesting cover songs (“Falling Slowly,” from “Once” and Stevie Wonder’s “I Believe [When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever]” among them). Jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval and Italian pop singer Laura Pausini also make appearances.

To roll out the release, Groban will host a 90-minute live concert and Q&A session from New York’s Allen Room at 7 p.m. Monday on movie screens nationwide.

He checked in earlier this week from Los Angeles to discuss the new album and the theater special.

Q. Why do this type of an event to roll out the new album?

A. We wanted to do something that gave back to the fans and allowed for as many fans who wanted to come to see something special to do so. It’s not just your two-minute song on a morning TV show. As you get introduced to new ways of promoting and reaching out to fans, it’s always been important for me to do that. This one seemed to be all the things that we wanted– surround sound, great visuals, a live concert atmosphere to reach tens of thousands of people. It seemed like a fun thing we hadn’t done before.

Q. Are you performing live or just fielding questions live?

A. Oh, no, we’ve got the full band. There will be a good combo of new songs and we’ll hit all the favorites and hopefully sing some new favorites. It’s not a passive experience. (Fans) can tweet in advance or the night of the show to send us questions for the live Q&A.

Q. How much rehearsal does something like this require?

A. We’ve been rehearsing all week in L.A. and more in NY (later this week). We’re woodshedding. We’ve been off the road for a year so we’ve been diving into these songs the last week and a half. We want to keep the questions loose and the music tight.

Q. Are you at all nervous about what fans might throw at you, or is it similar to what you’ve done on tour with taking questions from the audience?

A. One thing I’ve learned about that interaction is that when it goes great, it’s great. But when it’s embarrassing, it’s still great. You can’t lose at that stuff.

Q. You have several covers on the album – why those particular songs?

A. It’s a tricky things finding covers that you feel you can bring something new to and honor the original version. We basically started the album process with a bunch of songs that we’ve found that we love and midnight iChatted about, and that’s combined with a bunch of half ideas of original written stuff.

These are songs that either came to me as a complete surprise or were songs I’ve loved for a long time, like ‘Falling Slowly.’ When I first heard it, it just captured me. As a singer, I said to myself, when is the right time to sing this song? It needed to be the right time, the right producer. The Stevie Wonder song was brought to me by Gayle, my manager, who said I’ve got this crazy idea. I knew the song but it seemed like an immediate odd fit. It was the right group of musicians and it just felt right. But even out of the ones we pick, five or six will make it out of 25. It’s a very picky process.

Q. Between the covers and the appearances from Laura Pausini and Arturo Sandoval, do you feel like this is your most eclectic album?

A. In some ways it is. For me, this is an album that best blends the two worlds. As I get a little older my mind is balancing out to my sound. The experience is starting to pay off a bit as far as being thrown into the master class of this business. (Producer) Rob (Cavallo) pushed us to be a little more eclectic, but we wanted to be eclectic in an intelligent way. There’s never a moment where we aren’t thinking about the fans and what they want to hear, I always want to excite them and give them something new.

Q. Tour plans for the new year?

A. At the moment we’re going to start doing European and Australian dates. We’re going to hit them with full force and in the summer we’re going to do some orchestral shed shows, like playing Ravinia (in Chicago) and three nights at Hollywood Bowl for July 4th weekend, before we hit a big indoor tour in the fall.

http://www.pollstar.com/resultsArtist.aspx?ID=43746&SearchBy=groban

Though we had a much longer list of dates, they were removed from the website so I in turn altered my list too. I will be updating thelist for all the readers here just as soon as I get an update on more tour dates. ~Ozy.

he first meeting for Josh Groban’s sixth studio album occurred not in a recording studio or at the offices of longtime label Warner Bros. Records. It was during a party at Kid Rock’s house.

Perhaps inspired by the setting or the host, Groban chatted up Rob Cavallo, longtime producer of Rock, Green Day and My Chemical Romance, and also Groban’s boss. Cavallo had been appointed chairman of Warner Bros. just before the release of Groban’s 2010 album, the Rick Rubin-helmed “Illuminations,” and he was curious about where the prince of classical crossover pop wanted to head next.

“He stressed to me that he loved his other records, but he said, ‘I think there’s something more,’” Cavallo recalls.

That missing piece was surprising. Groban had been listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull and Fleetwood Mac, and he’d begun to wonder what his music might sound like if it had some of the orchestral rock elements he heard on those records. “I was concerned that the music have a little pop or rock edge to it — whatever world I find myself in, it’s just gotten really soft,” Groban says candidly of his highly successful catalog, which has moved 21.5 million albums since his self-titled 2001 debut, according to Nielsen SoundScan. “This genre can rock a little bit. I’m not saying what I’m doing is Pearl Jam, but it can have the right energy. The intent can be the same.”

The result is “All That Echoes,” a collaboration with Cavallo that indeed finds Groban embracing some of his most rocking arrangements to date on tracks like “False Alarms,” “E Ti Promettero” (a duet with Italian singer Laura Pausini) and lead single “Brave,” each festooned with dramatic strings and pounding drums that bring to mind latter-day Coldplay or the Cavallo-produced heyday of Goo Goo Dolls. Sweeping covers of “Falling Slowly” from “Once” and Stevie Wonder’s “I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)” rock a little bit harder than one would expect from a guy who got his big break as a Grammy Award rehearsal stand-in for Andrea Bocelli. Then there’s his cover of Danish indie-rock group Choir of Young Believers’ “Hollow Talk,” which boasts an epic “Kashmir”-like strings-and-electric-guitar climax. And for the most-devoted Grobanites — as his hardcore fans have called themselves since Groban guest-starred on “Ally McBeal” in 2001 — there’s even a bonus interpretation of Dave Matthews Band’s “Satellite” on the direct-to-fan and Target deluxe editions of the album.

“Any time I would say to Rob, ‘I don’t know if this in the rule book’ or ‘I don’t know if I can get away with this,’ he’d say, ‘You got to get yourself out of that place. Stop holding yourself back and let’s expand your wheelhouse,’” Groban says. He also co-penned all seven of the album’s original tunes, with co-writers including Chantal Kreviazuk (“Brave”), Tawgs Salter (“Brave,” “Happy in My Heartache”), Lester Mendez (“False Alarms,” “Un Alma Mas”), Walter Afanasieff (“Sincera”) and Marco Marinangeli (“E Ti Promettero”).

But it was Cavallo’s confidence in Groban’s instinctive abilities as a vocalist and a musician that built up a trust that resulted in recording many of the songs live with a full orchestra, with many of Groban’s first-take vocals ending up on the final cut.

“I thought it would be great to put a rock band in terms of the rhythm section behind him,” Cavallo says, “but at the same time we’d get the best players in the world on drums, bass and guitar. Then we’d put with them the best harpist, cellist and violinist in the world. Then you’ll hear the voice and you’d end up with some special kind of hybrid where it will still be classical but will also have a different kind of energy behind it.”

Josh Groban Turns to Stevie Wonder, ‘Once’ on New Album

Among the A-list musicians who appear on “All That Echoes” are drummers Matt Chamberlain (Pearl Jam) and Abe Laboriel Jr. (Paul McCartney), as well as legendary trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, who plays on Spanish-language love song “Un Alma Mas.”

Having Groban’s music show signs of edge could reverse the sales dip that “Illuminations” experienced — it was his first record to miss out on a platinum plaque. (The set has sold 894,000 copies, according to SoundScan.) But a little change of pace should come as little surprise to fans of Groban the performer, who’s poked fun at and playfully distanced himself from his goody-two-shoes, boy-next-door image during the last two years. He memorably turned Kanye West’s tweets into dramatic piano ballads on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” took on comedic acting roles in 2011′s “Crazy Stupid Love” and a pair of guest spots on NBC’s “The Office,” filled in for Regis Philbin on “Live With Kelly” (he was in serious consideration for the spot that went to Michael Strahan) and constantly peppers his own joke-laden Twitter feed (more than 529,000 followers) with punny bon mots like, “If I were in the mortuary business- ‘Mo’ Dignity: We Get To Bag You Up.’”

As a result of his Josh of all trades status, “All That Echoes” has a varied and ambitious promotional schedule that kicks off Jan. 18 with a 60-minute special on HSN to boost pre-orders of the album. Groban will swing by the New York Times’ Times Talk series (Feb. 1), “Good Morning America” (Feb. 6), “Live With Kelly and Michael” (Feb. 7) and even Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” (Feb. 10), with Valentine’s Day stops planned for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and a return to “Kimmel.” Radio visits will include top 40 WHTZ (Z100) New York and a performance at Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio Theater.

Also set for the eve of the album’s release (Feb. 5) is an event hosted by National CineMedia’s Fathom division in which Groban will perform an intimate live concert at New York’s Allen Room at Lincoln Center and answer questions from fans both in the audience and at the more than 500 movie theaters watching the performance. Portions of the taping will be repurposed into a special for PBS later in the year.

But even beyond album cycles, “Josh has done an amazing job of talking to fans year-round,” Warner Bros. VP of marketing Esther Somlo says. “His fans are so loyal and rabid and really supportive that they’re really sort of mobilized when there’s new content. There aren’t long dormant periods. He’s always doing something, whether it’s touring, film or TV projects, and even when he’s not he’s good at communicating with them.”

Pondering the Beautiful and Complicated Contradiction That Is Josh Groban and His New Song “Brave”

Categories: Ha, This Song Is Fucking Terrible, New Releases, Reviews

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you, dear reader, are probably not in the Josh Groban demographic. I’m not exactly sure what the Josh Groban demographic is, but I’m almost certain it doesn’t involve reading blogs, or knowing what they are. My guess is that Josh Groban fans stick to the Missing Child Prayer Alert/My Google Won’t Download corners of the web. I’m not in his demographic either, but for some reason I find Josh Groban fascinating.

He’s a man of contradictions. Actually, just one contradiction: his music, in the jargon of serious criticism, sucks. It sucks in the plainest and most classic way; it Michael Bolton sucks; it Celine Dion sucks. It’s almost adorable that something could still suck so quaintly in the 21st century. On the other hand, he seems like a genuinely cool, funny, self-aware and handsome guy. It’s tough to reconcile, like when MTV would do specials where they rode around in Blink 182′s van: at first you think, Wow, I could totally hang out with these hombres, but then they play a clip of their music and you remember why you’ve been calling in bomb threats to all their concerts.

There must be some good reason for it. Groban is with-it enough that he ought to be able to listen to “You Raise Me Up” and go, “Hey, my song huffs mad doo,” but still he persists in lame-o schlock for boring people. I don’t know why. Maybe he thinks he’s typecast by his bellowing voice and loveable face, or maybe he’s just a super good grandson and he wants to make nice songs that his family can be proud of at Christmastime. My best guess is that he’s got his niche, he makes his money, and he goes home and listens to Einstürzende Neubauten.

Considering all my Groban ambivalence, I’ll try to be fair in my review of his new single, “Brave,” from his upcoming album All That Echoes (grammar watch, homie: should be All Those Echoes). It would be easy enough to kick around the square-ass popera dweeb song from my lofty perch in the hep bloggo catbird, but I’ll focus on the positive.

The Basic Merits of “Brave” by Josh Groban

•As a song, it’s very realistic. If a friend started singing it, I wouldn’t say “hey, that’s not a real song.” There are instruments and everything, and Josh Groban fully sings the thing. The why is a little hazy, but the what is crystal clear: this thing is a song.

•I cannot rule out that Josh Groban put some genuine feeling into this track. For starters, it’s difficult to move that much air through your vocal cords without experiencing a sensation. I think I can relate to what Josh Groban is feeling: it probably feels like a sort of controlled, beautiful yelling, and I’ve done about a third of that. I bet he also feels like he’s going to make a lot of money (which I can’t relate to, but it seems great!).

•If this was played at really low volume in Macy’s, it probably wouldn’t bother you. In fact, you probably wouldn’t even notice. But if you did, in that context, it would sound correct. Be careful, though: it’s like a sprayed-white Christmas tree covered in blue lights and tinsel– works fine in the bank, but you might not want it in your house.

•There’s a certain cinematic quality to it, like the closing credits of a Disney movie. Maybe not Disney, but at least one of those well-timed equivalents meant to confuse grandmas into renting the wrong video. This could absolutely be the soaring closer to one of those things. “Brave (Theme from Art Frisney’s The Hunchback of Public Domain)”

•If you listen to it two or three times, like I did for some reason, there’s a chance it could get stuck in your head. A real “earworm,” like that terrifying Night Gallery episode. Then again, it could also get stuck in your head if you bought the physical CD single and hired a dude to wing it into your dome. I might recommend the latter over the former.

•The lyrics have a very positive message of confronting your fears head on, weathering the storm of self-doubt and achieving your dreams through courage and determination. I was so impressed by the track’s poetry that I even submitted the words to Rapgenius, with some fairly straightforward explanation.

Judy, I’m not sure you know this, but Ozy has started a new post and everyone is commenting there now, so if you are using a link, you need to update it.

With the new blog post they are back to their old ways…. maligning Josh and posting lies about ME. Some posters there are very nice, others are evil jerks…. (justme fits that category).

Things never change…

Again, I post under ONE name here, and I’m not doing anything wrong here. And I’m certainly NOT saying that Josh is gay anywhere in this forum. I honestly think that Ozy has gone insane….

For the 1000th time, Josh said he is not gay and I BELIEVE HIM. He doesn’t LIE.

The only people who repeatedly call Josh a liar is OZY and some of the deplorable people who post on her blog!

Louise, you forgot abut the wonderfulpost y utp on your front page last month.  Reread it. You announce that you think Josh is gay!

I just have to make a few more comments….

I KNOW Josh says he’s not gay and MOST of his ardent fans believe he is not gay, but I am here to tell you that “his ardent fanbase” has a skewed view of reality. That is not a slam, just an observation after being a fan of Josh for 10 years…

Superfans appear to form a view of their “hero” (even those who DON’T put him on a pedastal) based on their own vision of the world and their projected desires for a “perfect world”– whatever that means for them.

Whereas certain things might be “obvious” to Josh’s core fans, I am here to tell you that certain things are far from obvious to the general population. People base their opinions on what they SEE… especially when it comes to celebrities. They are cynical and don’t necessarily believe what celebrities SAY. They look at their behavior and choices and personalities and then form an opinion.

I want to be clear: I am NOT saying Josh is gay. What I am saying is that he can tweet all he wants that he is not gay, but that means nothing if he continues to act a certain way.

People are lying to themselves if they say that gay men don’t share certain characteristics. Yes, there are always those men who are able to seem completely heterosexual, yet be gay, however that’s a minority. Think about the gay men YOU know… don’t they act “different” in several ways to the straight men you know? That’s not “stereotyping”.. that’s looking at reality. My best friend was gay and I guarantee you, he was very different than other men. He was into fashion, music… I could make a long list.

Anyway… what I’m getting at is that people observe Josh: the clothes he wears (especially the tight jeans and scarves..lol), the people he hangs out with, his interests (such as musical theatre), etc., etc., and they get an impression that generates a belief about him. Over the last ten years I have seen MANY comments by non-fans and believe me, there are a LOT of people out there who think Josh is gay. Sorry, but that’s the truth many of his fans don’t want to face. It is NOT “obvious” to these people that Josh is not gay. It is actually obvious to them that he IS gay. My husband’s gaydar goes off like an explosion when it comes to Josh– and it’s not because of Josh’s “mannerisms”–it is the sum total of everything about him.

Then add in the fact that Josh has not had a PUBLICLY acknowledged girlfriend in 7 years AND he has admitted hiding relationships, well, that just fuels the fires of speculation… and impressions.

The hiding relationships thing is especially troublesome for Josh– because even his FANS admit that this simply does not make sense for him to do that. You can come up with all the theories you want, but none of them really hold up to scrutiny and logic.

Sorry Josh fans if you don’t like these ideas, but I’m being honest about what I have observed… for years. So if Josh wants people to stop getting these “impressions” and he actually IS straight, then he needs to stop doing all these things that lead people to believe he is gay. Simply tweeting “I’m not gay”, or telling a reporter “I might want a wife someday” is not going to cut it… If he continues on like he has, especially the hiding relationships thing, he will spend the next 50 years dodging the gay rumors…

The Obama Supporter thread over at the Pub looks exactly like what Louise claims it is not.The whole thread is just a very ugly POV. UGLY!

Wisdom is often found in small nuggets. Here is 1 such nugget for Louise to think about as she is such a “Critic” .:

Yep, pcjg1 and Ozy are back in attack mode. I will never understand how fans of Josh Groban can be so vicious. Not to mention stalkers.

You or I didn’t do anything in this thread except point out THEIR behavior, describe what THEY said. So if this thread is horrible, I guess that means what they said is horrible. I agree….lol.

Yes, Kari is constantly investigating Josh’s friends and their families– watching them. And do they really think that Josh appreciates that? What the hell?

And just to clarify, when I started this forum over, I did not mean I would never point out the deplorable behavior of some Josh Groban fans. The intention of starting over was to have a better organized forum with better features (I upgraded the software).

I will continue to report things I see on the internet that Josh and his management should know about– especially creepy behavior like that of Kari, pcjg1, and Ozy.

It’s a service I provide for Josh…. I am guessing he appreciates everything I do for him!

Louise, Wacky and Passionate Proprietor of the Josh Groban Corner Pub

           Oh yeah Louise, Myself, Kari and Pcjg1 are all trembling in out boots with fear of you reporting thid blog to Josh’s Management.  NOT!!  They know all about this blog and what it says. Josh’s people,RB people and all of Josh old  girlfriends read here all the time too. Your threats are falling on deaf ears.

Tell us Louise, do you honestly think Josh’s management will take anything you say and act on it? Sounds to me like you’s like to be a gloried Nay Davis. But that’s impossible because YOU have been banned from all things Josh so why would anyone listen to you? You don’t think you are a bully? Think again!  This blog hasn’t gotten a letter from Josh’s lawyer telling me to shut down my blog, But you did.  You had management from WBR watching your every word and trying to stop you from even reading @ FoJG!  Of course, I don’t try a million and 1 times to rejoin where I’m not wanted.  I’ve moved well beyond that stale arena.

I’m not banned from all thiungs Josh Groban, nor is Kari, PCJG1 nor any of the other posters. We can join any of his sites without reprocussions. We can donate to his charities and have our donations accepted. You may not like any of us Louise for SPECULATING, but we can still do all the normal things in josh land that you can not! And weare sure that our speculations are far more acceptable than the ones you continue to whisper in dark couners,  ” Josh is Gay!!!”

If Ozy or anyone else over there thinks that the majority of Josh Groban fans support and like what is being said in that blog, they are DEAD WRONG. Ozy might point out her large number of “hits”, but so what? Hits does not equal support. If Adolf Hilter came back to life and started a blog, I’m sure his blog would get a lot of hits too– but it’s because people are curious to see what kind of horrible thing he would say next.

Also, if anyone reads that blog for a while they realize what is going on– Ozy frequently reports that she banned someone– that’s because someone comes along and challenges what they are doing or tries to state the TRUTH. And that’s the last thing they want over there… truth. They just want to spreads rumors, denigrate and libel Josh, attack other fans like me, and report their stalkerish behavior and the results of their “detective work” on Josh’s friends and their families and businesses.

Disgusting! And I have a right to state my opinion about what they are doing.

                 Oh  my! Now I am compaired to Hitler?   Louise has totally lost it. My audience knows that for several weeks this blog was set upon by a troll wo was trying to get Josh’s attention on twitter. When that failed she came HERE because, yes, thousands read here every day, unlike the Pub. The troll was taken care of and soon settled over at the who is dating who site.    And if EVERYONE must agree with this blog or it will be deleted, then why did I allow ths to stand????

Submitted on 2012/12/05 at 11:45 pm ( from Josh Groban News and Updates)

Someone directed me to this site today. Forgive me while I laugh. Words have always painted a picture for me. I will share what I see:

A bunch of middle-aged, obviously financially spoiled, totally male-ignored women who have lots of fun discussing a performer’s love life or lack of one, because they apparently do not have a love interest and/or have nothing better to do with their time.

I’ve seen women like you before who live to destroy everyone else who doens’t latch onto their scewed way of seeing and reporting things. It’s pathetic, but in a totally laughable way.

So, I have to ask the question: Is this site for real? Or is it a spoof? Either way, Saturday Night Live could take skit ideas from this site.

Thanks for the laughs. Rhonda

But if I will NOT allow words to be posted that disagree with this site than why did I allow the above comment in the Pretty Woman # 3

OMG  Louise has yet again invented a new member to join the Pub so that she actually has someone to  interact with and have agree with her on all things regarding Josh’s Love life and who he is or is not dating.

” WELCOME MEG!”  She was introduced to us in the, Josh is engaged again thread over there. When will Louise learn that we’ve all figured out it’s just her making busy work, trying to be popular.

I just wanted to say to GoodOverEvil that he/she is welcome to come to this blog and post as she was banned by Louise from the Pub.

I’m finally replying to your bullshit:

“You say he reads here, and you have begged and pleaded for him to do something on your behalf. He hasn’t done a thing, other than order his charity to return your check. FYL is Josh’s charity. It’s not run by the fans. I’m going to repeat this. No fans are part of the running of FYL.” ~ Goodevil.

You don’t know that Josh “ordered my check to be returned”, unless of course, you talked to Josh, or you are a member of his team. I highly doubt either is true. So why don’t you shut up?

Also I KNOW FYL is Josh’s charity– just like the Josh Groban Foundation was his charity. It’s obvious to me that the only thing that happened when Josh announced his “new” FYL foundation is that his existing foundation changed names, it redirected focus, and he launched a new website. It appears that management of the foundation did NOT change one bit–and it was never managed by fans– not since day one. The organization that IS managed by fans is the GFC, which is completely separate from the foundation. I’m sure fans WANTED to be part of his foundation, but they never have been. All they do is run events to help Josh’s foundation, collect the money, and send it to the foundation.

And guess who DOES run Josh’s foundation? His MOTHER, that’s who… along with Boulevard Management. THAT is who returned by check– their return address was on the envelope. No, I don’t know who “ordered” my check returned, but it doesn’t make sense that Josh ordered that– I really doubt he even KNEW anything about my check or what they did with it. YES, he knew about the check AFTER I reported here that it was returned, and I’m guessing that he was absolutely FURIOUS that they returned it– because their action reflects VERY poorly on his foundation! If I hired a management company to handle donations to my foundation, and then found out that they were RETURNING donations to people because they didn’t like the person making the donation, I would be absolutely LIVID!!! Wouldn’t YOU?

For God’s sake, there is NO reason for them to treat me this way, return my check. Of course, I understand that charities have the right to refuse donations. I would guess no legitimate charity would accept stolen merchandise, money from criminals, money from the mob, etc…stuff like that…

But I sure don’t fall into any of those categories– I am just a FAN who was trying to HELP Josh’s charity.

Again, whoever DID order my check returned is a complete ASSHOLE and has NO respect for Josh or his charitable efforts. NO respect.

It’s SO sad that Josh has slimey hateful people running his charity! A true SHAME!

:@ :-@

  So, Josh’s Mother is  SLIMEY and an ASSHOLE!  And you wonder why Josh won’t have anything to do with you?

Louise, please give it up. Find another singer to invest your talents in and leave Josh alone.  You have a great many talents, Louise but you insist on staying where you are not wanted.  And that’s too bad.

So Louise is trying to control my behavior; telling others that I’m a liar and calling me other wonderful names and yet~ when  it comes to the women seen in a crowd with Josh, whether they have anything to do with him our not, Louise attacks them with name calling a childish taunts.  And Louise, you  should know that the minute you have to do some name calling of anyone, that, right there, you have lost the argument.. . .  Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!!!  Got it, Louise?  That’s why I don’t call you names. That why NONE of us call you names.   :-)    :

Lots of photos with Josh in them here:

http://redhot-society.com/?p=1880

Ok, I wouldn’t want to go to a party where people are walking around taking my picture everytime I talk to someone or drink from my glass.

He looks like he may have been having fun, but I feel sorry for him– that has to be annoying. And why was a photographer there anyway?? I don’t get it…

Also, looks like a bunch of ditzy party girls there … with nothing much upstairs– between their ears that is… Who wants to talk to them? lol…

(Louise, who are you to say something like that about women who are complete strangers to you but who are friends of either Eric’s or Josh? I’m pretty sure that’s so very “not cool with either guy.” )

But anyway, happy birthday ELEW!!

I met him in Dallas last year and he took a picture with me– it was COOL!

And to OZY and the others liars and slimeballs at her site: I am NOT TRYING TO POST at your fricken’ blog. NEVER. Stop LYING about me. And why would I try to anyway?? ANYONE who has a difference of opinion from your posters gets labeled a “troll” and their posts deleted! Censorship in the extreme!

  Yes, Louise, it WAS you. You basically said the same thing that was posted here. in the Paul Newman thread.  It was you because you were out of town with your laptop and so the IP was different each time you posted, as long as you kept moving.  Heck even the Avatar changed when the IP changed.  That’s the way it works and you know it.

  Louise, we are NOT bugging you. YOU are coming over to my blog and making trouble, calling people names, claiming we are liars, slime-bags (which is another name for a used condom.)  and judging all of us according to your own twisted opinion.  Yes, Josh people do read at my blog and Rachel’s people do too.

Unlike you, I’ve not gotten a letter from Josh’s lawyer asking me to shut down my blog.   FACT!  You need to go away and leave me and my members alone, Louise.

Here we go again with the PUB Police trying to control My Blog.

I’m sitting in the airport on a layover… decided to catch up on Josh news, and I shouldn’t have read “that site”.

Because I am SHOCKED and HORRIFIED, once again, at the complete disrespect of Josh there. Simply HORRIFIED.

And only ONE person is saying anything halfway in his defense….

This is COMPLETELY DISTRESSING and it’s actually libel, because they are actually harming Josh’s reputation and therefore his CAREER.

To take something said by a COMEDIAN being silly or by another singer in a SHOW making a JOKE, as FACT, and then reporting that on the internet as FACT is again, unbelievably horrifying…

I shouldn’t let this upset me so much… I KNOW. But I CARE about Josh and to see the disrespect and the spreading of rumors about his life…. it’s VERY upsetting!!

How could these “FANS” do such a thing???

There is absolutely NO EVIDENCE whatsoever that Josh is a womanizer or promiscuous, casually bedding women in his orchestra or on tour or anywhere ELSE. To state such things as FACT is unbelievable, and I cannot understand why Josh’s people or SOMEBODY doesn’t do something about that horrifying site….

I feel like I just want to CRY for Josh….

And furthermore, that whole damn blog is ALL about spreading RUMORS about Josh’s relationships–on a PUBLIC WEBSITE—- they are constantly stating as FACT things they know NOTHING ABOUT…. just because they saw a photograph on the internet or because “another fan” told them this or that….

I shake my head in disbelief how ANYONE can say that place is a “great” site.

Thank God that at least Josh has LOUISE to SPEAK UP FOR HIM and RESPECT HIM.

And by the way, Kari is a a complete A$S… the biggest rumormonger I have EVER encountered in my entire life.

Oh, one more thing…

Ozy constantly deletes posts by anyone who tries to state the truth or disagree with a poster there…. and then claims that the people she deleted were “trolls”…

Well Louise it has become obvious that YOU took the opportunity to come in and try and post here while you were traveling with your laptop.  I caught and deleted both yours and Tina’s posts.  Both of you ARE trolls so your posts were deleted.  This is my site and I will delete the trolls. ~~ (Brenda and Maranda)

Louise,

Lighten up. What guy wouldn’t want to have a reputation of having a big *ic* and knowing how to use it.

I don’t post there, but they clearly state that these are just opinions and speculation and not fact. If Josh had a problem with it, the owner would have been contacted by his attorneys. Then again, that didn’t work for him in the past.

You seem so concerned about policing other people’s behavior. Isn’t that what you always complained about? If you look at some of the comments you have made in the past, you’ve done the exact same thing as what they’re doing.

You’re going to kill youself with stress contantly worrying about what other people are doing. Josh is a big boy, and can take care of himself.

Just to clarify one other point, since I haven’t been posting here. Josh’s foundation FYL is totally separate from any fan run Josh charity. Josh has complete control over that, and you can be sure that he knows exactly what’s going on there.

WAKE UP PEOPLE…. think about what is going there!!

Will Louise not let this die?

There hasn’t been freedom of speech on FOJG since 2003… 3 days after it started…lol…

There is a tendency to have power or control… boss others around. I don’t know if this is just Josh Groban fans or all fan clubs have this problem. I suspect it is common…

Lizzi is now screaming in twitter that fans in FOJG are “attacking her” and she’s demanding that Sarah delete everyone’s posts. She’s “reporting” people.

Uhhhh… I read the threads over there and I don’t see anyone attacking her at ALL. Fans should be able to talk about this and discuss JOSH’S TWEETS.

As far as Sarah’s post… hmmm… it’s vague. Sounds like nobody can criticize Josh anymore there. That’s the silliest dumbest thing yet. She says fans bullying or harrassing others will be warned and possibly banned… and that a “line was crossed” this weekend. Uhhh… WHAT line? What defines the line? What is their definition of bullying and harrassing? All I see are fans expressing opinions about Josh’s tweets and Lizzi’s tweets and posts…. Nobody is calling her names or demanding that she be banned or anything close to that.

LIZZI is the one running around screaming and demanding that posts be deleted and others be banned. Looks to me like she wants to rule Josh’s fan club and police other fans’ opinions. Yep, this is board police behavior: “I don’t like you disagreeing with me so I’m going to run off to the mods and report you and try to get you banned”. Disgusting. She should contact the old board police from years ago and have dinner with them… they would get along fine!

I sure hope Josh is reading over there… so he can realize what a mess he created… bwaaahhhhhaaaa….

Gee Louise, how do you know what is happening on FOJG if you were banned for the umpteenth time!

Well I have kept this blog quiet for nearly a month, things are brewing around Louise and the Pub and Josh had to step in, Via Twitter and take Lizzi58 side. Granted Louise just reported it and gave her ever so slanted opinion on it but still, you all need to read it.

@lizzi58 Absolutely. It starts with the conversation that wouldn’t have otherwise happened. And thats thanks to you too for asking about it.

josh groban ‏ @joshgroban

@lizzi58 If i had not signed on, done nothing, and in turn not sparked your skepticism, would that have been better?

josh groban ‏ @joshgroban

@lizzi58 we all live our lives the way we live them. the choice to take the opportunities to help others within our lives is up to us.

lizzi58: I would love to hear what you think-I’m not being critical-I am thinking about this-how will it help

josh groban ‏ @joshgroban

@lizzi58 IMHO, its an activity that brings the topic to a conversation and in turn leads to a desire to help/donate. That is the hope.

Yes, if you tweet at Josh a gazillion times, he definitely notices.

And it is obvious that he responds to people who (1) who say cute or funny things, or (2) say something that forces him to defend himself

This is clearly a case of (2), and of course Josh is brilliant at his defense and being NICE to the person who has said something that bothers him.

HERE is Lizzi’s cruel post, labeling him a hypocrite, that probably upset Josh and forced him to defend himself:

joshgroban Remember Marie Antoinette who played at being shepherdess in the Petit Trianon while people were starving.

So both Lizzi and Straightarrow slammed Josh… how “nice” of them…

They are friends… makes sense… you know how it is…”birds of a feather flock together”..

And now she is calling other fans dysfunctional:

lizzi58 Josh valued your discussion with him. These Grobies who are unfollowing you are dysfunctional.

Uhh, yeah right… A fan denigrates Josh’s actions and motives and has to defend himself, and he “values” that…. Unbelievable….

Oops… just saw your post…

“Josh didn’t seem to mind her asking at all”

Of course he didn’t “seem” to mind, because he is kind and brilliant and diplomatic. No way is he going to say “I didn’t like what you implied about me”.

” I’m sure that if she had offended him in any way he would have just ignored her.”

Actually, I disagree. I don’t know if “offended” is exactly the right word, but the fact that Josh responded to her indicates that he wanted to “set the record straight” and defend his participation in the event. This is what he has done MANY times on twitter– responded to someone who slammed him in some way for his actions or inactions. He did that just a few days ago when a guy started blasting him for being disrespectful to autistic people.

The thing that got everyone so upset about what Lizzi was tweeting was that she was implying he was just another uncaring celebrity doing some meaningless charity event to make himself look good– see her comment above where she said she “didn’t get” how he could do this event and then do the fragrance awards. Gee, that sure doesn’t seem very nice or supportive of Josh at all. So it appeared to many that Josh did what he has done in the past: spoke up to defend his position.

And now she is claiming everyone is “mean” and “jealous” because many fans speak up about what she did. That’s like running around saying “nah nah nah nah– he tweeted me and not you”. Not very classy to me. And sorry, no way I am “jealous” of her having a twitter exchange with Josh. In fact, I would be ashamed if I were her! Thousands of people saw what she tweeted. And she is sadly mistaken if she thinks most people liked what she tweeted about the event/fragrance awards. The overwhelming reaction I saw in both twitter and in the message board was negative. Of course, if anyone dares to speak their opinion they are labeled “mean” or “a bully”. She has no idea what a bully REALLY is… someone disagreeing with something you said or did is not bullying.

I never had a problem with anyone disagreeing with me… bullying is when fans deliberately try to destroy your life, attack your children, threaten lawsuits, and do everything they can to shut down your website and silence you. I sure don’t see anyone doing that to Lizzi.

Personally, I like to see fans defending Josh, rather than questioning his motives in such a way that propells him to defend himself.

I haven’t agreed with ChirpieGrl in the past, but she tweeted the above and I agree 100%. Lizzi is going on and on about people bullying her and she has NO clue what bullying really is…NO clue.

I also agree with people expressing their opinions. Lizzi seems to believe that she can say whatever the hell she wants, but nobody can respond to her. Unbelievable….

EDITED TO SAY– I still stand by this post — no matter what Josh says… I saw no bullying of her in twitter….

wow what a can of worms that list of twitterisms that opened on fojg. You are right Lizzie doesn’t know what bullying is…people disagreeing with the way she went about asking Josh questions and her response was a good way to begin a war.

It is none of her business anyway what he does or doesn’t do but she feels she has the right, as a fan, to chastise him as if he were a naughty school boy. This is one way to put josh off twitter and I know if that happened there would be a lot of unhappy people and if would be her on fault.

And I just gotta say, Josh obviously doesn’t know the whole story…

Lizzi has not exactly been kind to certain fans.. including ME.

A long time ago, she was following me… and I was always NICE TO HER. And then one day I noticed she blocked me… I found out that someone posted on her blog and signed MY NAME. And she didn’t believe me when I told her it wasn’t me.

And then her friend straightarrow apparently believed it too and posted a blog about me and said that I had mental problems and that I did stuff and then couldn’t remember doing them.

Nice…. (NOT).

But whatever…

Again, I don’t know who she is referring to being “creepy” and “dysfunctional”…

I’m always out of the loop… and I guess Josh believes everything she says…

Also, I don’t think Josh saw Lizzi’s earlier tweets, like this one:

celebs are so hard to understand. @joshgroban lives on 1.50 day- awareness for poverty-then he performs for the fragrance awards #dontgetit

I still say that was NOT nice. And there is nothing wrong with me not liking one of her tweets…

It did start to get nasty – but she started it. There is nothing wrong with a heated discussion but she took it too far..and kept on about it. She was saying that fans were jealous cos Josh tweeted to her 5 times..but that wasn’t the issue..the issue was that she was questioning what he was doing without knowing all the facts.

She was behaving irrationally and quite childishly in my view…now Josh has hurt a whole bunch of fans by sticking up for Lizzie without knowing all the facts himself. A heated war is ensuing as I write. I think most people when Josh responds to anyone is happy that they received an answer but she had no right to question him in the first place and now she states she is being harrassed and bullied but its not the case. People are just stating that they disagreed with her point of view.

I agree with everything you wrote!

Especially the part about Josh not knowing the whole story…I seriously doubt he reads all of her tweets. I saw her claiming that people were jealous and when people responded she started going on and on and on about people bullying her. Like you, I don’t believe anyone was jealous of her… they just didn’t like her tweets. In twitter I didn’t see anyone calling her names or anything like that…

I wonder if she read my story? I posted a link to that here and in twitter too. What was done to her was extremely mild compared with what I went through!

Thinking about it… does anyone besides me find it very odd that Josh is finally NOW responding to any fan-on-fan disagreements?

And in response to PCJG 1, one of the most hateful fans in the history of Josh’s fandom, who repeatedly attacked me in long posts that were essentially saying that Josh doesn’t want me for a fan:

I am NOT “aligning myself” with Lizzi. No way. I didn’t like her tweets from the beginning of this mess and I still don’t. And I especially don’t like her screaming about being bullied when I saw no evidence of that in twitter. I’m not “victimizing” her in any way– I just disagreed with what she was tweeting… geesh…

I certainly in no way attacked her and I don’t like how she is portraying any fan who disagrees with her as “creepy”, “jealous”, “a bully”, or “dysfunctional”.

Do you think THAT is a nice way for HER to talk about other fans? Uh, REALLY? So she can call THEM names and that’s ok?

So Josh is OK with her doing THAT to other fans?

Josh is seeing her pitching a fit and assuming she’s accurately portraying the situation, and from what I can tell, she’s not.

The thing I am excited about is Josh FINALLY saying SOMETHING about fan-on-fan hate…. the extreme kind, where fans run to his management and lie about other fans, call them names, shun them for no reason, etc…

And his fan club has been RUINED for years– maybe he’s finally catching a clue about that. And you can’t blame that on me– I haven’t posted there since 2005—LOL.

Yes, I think Louise should reread the part about slinking away in shame when Josh has to Tweet a reprimand. JMO, I think Louise should slink away for awhile since she can be a bully to many fans as well. The proof is right here in this thread. ~Ozy

Louise, Wacky and Passionate Proprietor of the Corner Pub

Yes, in the distant past he told his fans to “be nice”, but he hasn’t said anything like that in a LONG time…

Now it is being blown all out of proportion which is why Josh tweeted that last tweet.

And I have mental problems and anyone unfollowing Lizzi is dysfunctional…

Again, how “nice” of her…..

Yes but look at this way.

There were 2 new people on her site the other day but because they disagreed have not posted again. Now they could just be busy and not writing but reading.

If they read Ozy’s site and then read about you they may come here instead..look at it from a positive side..the more she keeps you out there the more people might come to visit.

That other person you mentioned is like Ozy’s minion….I think I’ll go spoil their fun.

Until he responds to another tweet or is seen walking hand in hand down the street with her I shall make my own judgement.

I too was at the event on Monday..it was a dressy/classy affair and if you came by car then you didn’t need a coat, it was very warm inside the venue.

I have a friend who is a huge Josh fan – she wasn’t waiting for hours for him to arrive and she told me he arrived alone and went into the venue by himself. When the evening ended there was a huge rush and there were a lot of people milling around and a lot of paparazzi..whilst Josh was signing my friend said she saw the girl in the picture being pushed from behind towards the back of Josh and his bg was kind enough to rescue her.

I was also told he was signing autographs and taking pictures for a while and especially with a little girl in a wheelchair. From her pictures that she took and the pictures posted on this site it is not the same person.

However I am only stating what she told me and the pictures that she sent. I had an amazing time anyway.

Hmmm~ Take a look at this~ interesting.:

Oh good I think Louise needs to post another poll on Josh’s lovelife and tweet it this time as a certain person is putting hers on Facebook

From the Ozy’s website thread:

“I see Josh LOSING FANS left and right. And you know why? They see cruelty in his fanbase, think he’s a liar who mistreats women or fans, think he doesn’t care about his fans or even that he hates some of them (me), etc… all those things that Ozy’s site is constantly implying or stating as fact. And so I think that if anyone thinks that Ozy’s site is HELPING JOSH in any way they have a screw loose upstairs!!

But, it’s none of my business what Josh and his people do. If they want that libelous site to stay on the internet, then so be it. It’s just a damn shame how Josh’s own people don’t seem to want to correct or prevent damage to Josh’s reputation or his charity. They don’t even care that he has the crappiest fan club of any celebrity… that lets a bunch of board police and cruel mods run people off.. a fan club that posts cruel “notices” implying that I am a scam artist. A damn shame. Josh can’t do it all… he needs people to HELP him, and nobody seems to want to do that….

I see discouraged fans all the time on twitter– and in emails sent to me.

Here’s an example from YESTERDAY in twitter. One of my followers said:

@JGCornerPub @joshgroban seems like a great letter. But after seeing all I have, I have lost the interest in being a fan of josh.

I asked her why and she said:

@JGCornerPub his behavior towards his fans. And his people. I have figured there are other artists out there that know there fans make them

Yep, another fan recognizes that “some” fans get favored treatment and all the others are treated like crap.

Maybe someday people will wake up and smell the coffee and HELP JOSH with this mess, but after all these years, and recent events, I have little hope. The cruel people (like pcjg1) have been in charge since 2003, and nobody seems to give a damn.

I fully DOUBT those tweets.

Taken 4/2/12 from the pub in the Josh’s strange love life thread.

No, people still think that he is hot and heavy with that Rachel girl. and that he is bringing her to his singing events this week. If that happens, i will eat my right shoe. And they were so interested in real estate that she bought. How does one find that out for one and two just because she bought real estate doesn’t mean it’s a love nest for her and josh. If anything, I think he’d have a say in that matter…just sayin…

If anything, that site is good for a grin and a giggle.

Peace out:)

Kms~ For your information Rachel didn’t BUY any real estate. Josh bought property in NYC but not Rachel.  She Moved to either a new apartment or her business moved, but she didn’t buy property. And we never stated that she did.

For your information, all land transaction of buying and selling are public record. ANYONE can look up anything on a piece of land or a building.

   Glad you enjoy my site for a giggle or two but you might actually learn something if you try to keep up with the facts we are speaking of.

Peace out~~~  OZY~~~

And the bull crap continues to grow.

Now Louise is trying to explain why Sprog left the Pub and is blaming it on US

But Sprong and Cherry were the same person. I noticed they both spoke about not having enough coffee to understand a comment.

And they are BOTH Louise on a third computer, probably at work, in the computer lab.

Louise isn’t going to find fans who totally agree with her time after time. Sprog/ Cherry and now JudyMoo.   Are you seeing the pattern?

And WE are  responsible for scaring fans away from the Pub. LOL!

From the Pub: 3/19/12

Ok, will try…

Hey…. by the way, “someone” is claiming that you are ME….LOL…

And just to let Ozy and her la-la land clan know: the REASON that Sprog is not posting here anymore is because of Ozy and other people ATTACKING her over there, so she didn’t want to be their target anymore. Yep, that’s right– the mean bullies ran off another fan!!

And ALSO to let everyone know, OTHER fans who used to post here left because they are DISGUSTED WITH JOSH and the way he just lets these bullies treat me… and the way he lets mean people run his websites and FYL… yep, they don’t feel like following him anymore!!

So maybe that is what Ozy, and PCJG1 and all the other liars and bullies need to think about– maybe if you wouldn’t attack other fans like me, Josh wouldn’t lose fans!!!

SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Louise is denying being more than 1 person but since I know for a fact that she can use more than 1 computer at a time, I’m sticking to my claim! Besides, Sprog hasn’t been seen and I find it odd that he/she disappears when I out her!

Louise’s latest rant on me and others:

GET AWAY FROM ME you CREEPY STALKERS and MEAN LIARS!!

Okay, since Sprog/Cherry went on a permanent vacation, Louise has now brought in a new character to interact with her and agree with her opinion, no matter how far fetched.

Her name is JUDYMOO/ Linus. read some of her responses in the Josh’s mysterious love life thread over at the Pub.  So many of these new characters are Louise and we are sitting back with large grins on our faces.

Louise must be over her pity party for the auction that got the attention of the FYL foundation.

So now she is back with the whole “JOSH IS GAY!” Bashing.

Here is OUR Opinion:

You are very wrong LM. It was not a couple photo of Rachel & her friend. Her friend does not have her arm around Rachel. Look again.
She is a friend who is a lesbian. Not a lesbian girlfriend. Stop twisting things to prove JG is gay. He is not gay. He will never be gay so stop it. LM – pay attention to this – both JG & Rachel have not twittered today. Sarah said they had plans on meeting up late last night when JG was done filming – maybe they did? This is a clue. Pay attention to JG’s close friends adding Rachel to FB. Pay attention to JG riding home from the L train (out for Brooklyn) in the early morning hours. Brooklyn is where Rachel lives. Pay attention to when JG says he will not MAKE PUBLIC THE WOMEN HE DATES because is is bad for his relationships. I don’t want to be mean but it’s so tiring that you keep wanting to make him a gay man. He is not gay. You cannot make him gay by your speculations. Please accept this because it is true that JG is a straight man who loves the company of women.

Gosh, I’m still giggling… and I bet Josh is still giggling too…

A “couple” photo popped up last night… with RB in it…

Only… not with who you think… guess some folks are so disappointed….

BWAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

RB’s lesbian girlfriend with her arm around RB….

giggle giggle…

Okay Louise, it’s time to either give it up or shut up, one of the two. Everyone is sick of the DRAMA.   You’ve been sawing the VIOLINS for far too long  ~ Insert rolling eyes here.~

And if you really are done with Josh, then quit opening up more files and start DELETING all the files.

Of course, we KNOW you will only HIDE the files for maybe a week and then make some stupid, lame announcement that you are REOPENING the JOSH GROBAN Pub yet again!

AH, Told ya all!~~~~~

Thanks for your kind words. I’m SO glad you have enjoyed the Pub!

Just to clarify, I am not “shutting down” this forum. NOBODY is going to run me off of the internet.

I’m just totally pissed off at Josh right now and HURT to the core. After all I have done for him and his fans, and this is the way I am treated– I think anyone would be livid and hurt. I would be completely NUTS to continue my enthusiasm for him at this point. Just NUTS.

Maybe someday I will feel different, I can’t say.

And I don’t intend to hurt anyone…. I know people still love Josh and want to see his media, etc. So I’m not deleting any of my media files, data files, etc. In fact, soon I will be posting a link for my new site — the Josh Groban Library. I hadn’t posted it before because it wasn’t finished, but now… what the hell… I’ll go ahead and post it…

What I don’t feel like doing right now is spending much time thinking about Josh or doing anything “new” concerning him… I have to back off and focus on other things for a while…

I hope you stick around anyway… and find something of interest here… welcome to the Pub!!

I rest my case.  ~~~Ozy

How ironic that Josh retweeted: “Be nice. (The world is a small town.)” I guess he means “Be nice to everyone except Louise”

Because his own people and his charity have treated me with cruelty for YEARS. And I always thought that JOSH had nothing to do with it. I believed in him and supported him with all my heart.

But I’ve been a FOOL– he could speak up for me but refuses to– he just lets his people BULLY me and never says a word!!

Please be sure to read the comments here in response to WB’s and FYL’s hateful “notice” about me: JG.COM NOTICE

And to the anonymous cowardly jackass there saying I am creating “drama”: everything was going along FINE until WB and FYL posted that hateful notice to Josh’s entire fan base and then deleted ALL my auction items–that I was selling to help Josh’s foundation. And then they banned me from FOJG! It is THEM who started the drama, to HURT ME. That’s incredibly cruel and heartless… and apparently Josh doesn’t even care! He says nothing, as usual!

So it’s OVER.

I will not run a forum for someone who stands by silently and watches the continued bullying of one of his biggest fans –ME — after I have worked my ass off for YEARS helping him and his charity and his fans…. promoting and praising everything he did!

My heart is SHATTERED………..

3/8/2012

This Sunday all folders and threads related to Josh will be removed and this forum renamed. So copy what you want now.

3/7/2012

Sarah just banned me from FOJG….for no reason. I tried to speak up and explain about my auction, in the thread she started…

I guess my post is gone too… here is exactly what I posted:POST

They deleted all my EBay listings, so I re-listed them…

The new links are here: AUCTION ITEMS

I’ll finish the auction on Saturday, send the money to FYL like I promised… I keep my promises.

Then I’m done.

Josh Groban is a hypocrite of the worst kind…. he talks about being bullied in high school, tweets about supporting anti-bullying causes, but stands by and lets me, one of his most loyal fans, be bullied and her heart shattered, and does nothing, says nothing.

I never did anything wrong… I supported Josh 100%, worked my butt off for him–sold his records for him, defended him when others mistreated him, helped his fans, helped his charity, and he doesn’t care. He just watches me getting kicked when I am down.. and never says a kind word for me or to me.

I guess all these years I was so wrong about him… so wrong.

I can no longer support someone who lets his message boards and charity be run by bullies…. these bullies who malign me behind the scenes and lie about me ….

And nobody will speak up for me….

So, no more…

I’m sorry, but I just can’t anymore….

I’ll be closing this forum soon… copy what you want…

And to all of you monsters who have tried to destroy me and my family, and have HURT JOSH and HURT HIS FOUNDATION… may you ROT IN HELL.

I truly AM sorry that this happened to Louise but I’m not surprised that it did.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m sick too!!
Sarah posted that notice in FOJG… and people were asking what it was about, and so I decided to post this there:
Hello everyone. This is Louise.
I have been a member of FOJG for a while now, but I just read here, I don’t post. But this has motivated me to do so now.
I am sitting here crying my eyes out. Because I cannot believe the incredible cruelty of whoever is behind this “notice”.
I am selling some items on EBay and I announced over and over again that 100% of the net proceeds would be sent to FYL. I never said I was affiliated with FYL, only that I was selling some items to benefit FYL. I was excited to do this for Josh, and I announced my plans on Josh’s birthday. All the items are things I owned or things I made. I spent many hours making Josh pillows and I even painted two watercolor paintings: one of Sweeney and one of Josh.
I had been planning this for a while and about two months ago I contacted FYL thru the FYL website. I asked them if they could add the FYL Foundation to the list of charities in EBay’s “Giving Works” program. I got no response. I checked now and then to see if FYL was in the list, but it never came up. I think the Giving Works program is great because anyone can sell anything and have part (or all) of the proceeds go to your favorite charity. So FYL should be in the list.
Anyway, I decided to go ahead and sell my items in EBay and just send a check to FYL when I got all the funds. I announced many times that 100% of the proceeds would go to FYL, where proceeds = selling price- ebay fees-paypal fees-shipping cost. Yes, 100% of the money I netted was going to FYL.
I created a simple webpage to link to my items for sale, here:
http://louiseannette…onMainPage.html
I have already sold several items and others have many bids and will sell. All the items end Saturday night. I will continue with this auction and send a check to FYL as soon as I get all the payments from the buyers.
I never would have dreamed that someone in charge of Josh’s wonderful charity would do something like this. It is unbelievable. I was trying to help, just like other fans. Josh has thanked many other fans for helping raise money, so I truly cannot understand. This “notice” above was also posted on Facebook and people there are posting in the comments, portraying me as a scam artist. This is horrifying and I am sitting here crying, my heart crushed.
I cannot believe that kind, sweet Josh is behind this action.
I have been a loyal fan of Josh for over 9 years now and have had a forum for him for over 5 years–and there is nothing but respect for him there. Unlike other Josh fan sites I will not allow anyone to say horrible things about Josh– like he’s a drunkard or a womanizer or possibly taking drugs or even that he has mental illness. Josh sees nothing but 100% support in my forum, and I keep up with the news and post media for fans, etc. And I have supported his charitable foundations to the max– I even have a thread there to support his charity.
I also have a twitter page https://twitter.com/#!/JGCornerPub with over 2700 followers!!
I know that this post will eventually be deleted, and I may even be banned. And I will still not understand why– nobody official from WB or Josh’s management has ever told me why. I know there are some fans here who PM other fans telling them horrible things about me, like I am a dangerous stalker or that I threatened other fans or said bad things about his family or that I violated Josh’s privacy. All of that is completely false– I have never done any of those things– not even close, and I cannot understand why these people want to do this to me. Josh himself has spoken out against bullying several times, so why?
People have tried to tell me for years that Josh hates me, but I have never believed it, because I know he can see that I have good intentions and try to help him and his fans… and his charity. (I have made hundreds of Josh pillows for his charity, for many years.)
Please help me.. copy this post and pass it on to others. Stand up for what is right. Maybe eventually the good will win.
To all my supporters: thank you so much.
To Josh: I know you are not behind this “notice”… you would never be so cruel. Still, I am crying, not just for me, but for YOU and all your other fans too… because it seems nothing will ever get better….
Because of her auction, FYL foundation posted a warning to fans. I probably WAS meant for Louise but it didn’t name her outright.   When Louise got home from work, she discovered someone had turned her in.  This was her  post @ FOJG
My tweets to Josh and FYL:
Well, @FYLFoundation if you are referring to me, I NEVER said I was “affiliated’ with FYL, only that I was selling items to BENEFIT FYL.
And @FYLFoundation, this is the most horrible thing EVER. I am trying to HELP raise money for Josh, and I get slapped in the face.
I have a heart @FYLFoundation, and I have worked for YEARS to help Josh. This is unbelievable. Simply unbelievable.
Hey @joshgroban, the action of @FYLFoundation today breaks my heart and I cannot believe you approve of this. How could you???
Does Josh know about this? @FYLFoundation If so, I am heartbroken…
I never, ever said I was affiliated with @FYLFoundation … I am simply selling items on EBay to HELP Josh’s foundation. The items I am selling for @FYLFoundation are here:
http://louiseannette.com/JoshGroban/AuctionFYLFeb272012/AuctionMainPage.html I am just trying to HELP by selling MY items.
You can’t imagine how hard I am crying right now. This is one of the worst things EVER to happen to me. @joshgroban @FYLFoundation
My auction items for @FYLFoundation will end Saturday-Most items have bids & will sell-Over $100 now. Thanks for your kindness @lightofblue
I’ll keep the auction going but my heart is shattered!! Of course I’m not affiliated with @FYLFoundation -everyone knows that.
I’m crying, crying. I never in a million years imagined that @joshgroban’s @FYLFoundation and “Grobanites for Charity” could be so HEARTLESS
Wow! Louise has just post yet another of her horrible polls. The poll slams RB as well as the posters here and  I think you ladies should go over there and vote, seeing is how Louise and all of her test subject and minions like Test Louise, Test Louise 2, Sprog and others.. . .. . . You all can compete with her many personalities over at the Pub.  I can’t vote as I was Banned! LOL!
~~~~~~~~~~

Louise just can not stop slamming my blog.  She put up a thread saying she was no longer going to comment on my site but she continues to do so. Well that’s just fine, Louise.

Taken  from the pub on 3/1/12

“It is kind of sad that all these websites and people posting on it have nothing else better to do than chase a guy and be obsessed with his love life.”

I absolutely agree. I don’t think there is anything wrong with discussing photos of him out and about, or discussing his friends (especially if they are famous people themselves)– we are just interested in his life because we love him and find him fascinating. The thing that bothers me is when I see people jumping to wild conclusions and starting rumors based on a few tweets or one photograph or something else minor. These “fans” are “researching” anyone that Josh tweets to or follows and they must spend hours and hours tracking down what they post, who they follow, their facebook pages, and on and on… it’s damn creepy. Then they attempt to create connections or say he’s dating someone without any evidence whatsoever, or with just something stupid like they are in the same city at the same time. And the reality is that even if Josh is photographed walking down the street with a girl, that in no way means he’s dating her. If I were a female star similar to Josh I would be disturbed if people were setting up websites and putting up photos of every man that appeared in a photograph with me (walking down the street or whatever) and then “reporting” on that site, or even speculating, to others that I was dating these men. I would be furious!

And if that were not bad enough, they have assigned all sorts of bad behaviors to Josh, from excessive drinking to mistreating women … and they’ve even portrayed him as having mental problems and “needing help”!!

I have gotten emails from people stating that they are ALSO disturbed that this is going on, and they view certain things as libel (which it is) and they think that Josh and his management should do something about it.

Well, as you know, Louise, I’ve gotten several about you too. One of them is posted below.

Of course, people have to say this in private, because they are afraid of those creeps– and I don’t blame them. That site has pages and pages of crap about me– maligning me for defending Josh and defending myself and standing up for what is RIGHT.

Louise, it isn’t maligning you if it is facts.

You got a letter from Josh’s lawyer telling you to shut down your site.   (You decided to ignore it and then joke about it but it is still a fact and I think josh is still waiting for you to comply. But, of course, you WON’T! Because you don’t think he has the right to ask you)

  * You personally called Josh Groban’s father at his place of business to talk about YOUR problems. You emailed him for years as well.

* You’ve been banned from all things related to Josh including his boards, his charities and so on.

Also, if I were Rachel Beider, I would be totally creeped out by these people. She hasn’t even been seen with Josh, Josh has never mentioned her, no photographs, nothing… yet they now have her having sex with him 3 times a day on vacation. To me she appears to be a fan who went to the Live W/Kelly tapings, and has now gone on vacation in California, and met up with some friends there– like about half a million other people do in the United States. How they can conclude that she is dating and vacationing with Josh completely baffles me.

NOBODY knows who Josh is with right now, and I’m sure not going to start “researching” anything or anyone to find out.

“I guess that is the down side of being famous and with josh it is worse because he is so open with his fan base.”

Actually, even though I don’t follow other singers, I get the impression that all famous people have disturbing “fans”. Nothing wrong with being a EXTREME fan (like me)– it’s when the behavior crosses the line into libel or stalking or trying to destroy other fans, etc… that’s when it becomes highly disturbing…

“We get lost in all of this because what it boils down to is wanting him to be happy in what he is doing, be busy and enjoy his life. I think him taking this break is a good idea.”

I agree!!

Oh Jeez, Louise will try every which way she can to twist everything so that she can hint that he’s gay!

Josh and JJ DATED for over two and a half years but they were strictly business assoc. because they were CONFUSED???  REALLY?????   ROTFLMAF!!!!      ~:-D

So wait, you’re saying that both Nicholas Cage and Josh were lying (in detail) to Kelly about what brought about their meeting!? Why would Cage lie about that?

No, you misunderstand. I didn’t say anyone was lying. Of course nobody was lying. I’m just saying that if Josh and JJ were estranged lovers or one (or both) of them had strong feelings for one another (as in gf-bf), or they were confused or upset about the past, JJ sure as hell would not be calling up Josh to hop over to her house for a friendly chat with another actor. But that’s what she did, and he went. Nicolas called JJ a “mutual friend”. Yep, true.

And I also don’t get your meaning about “business associates”.

All three of them are actors (or are trying to be), in the movie business. Therefore they are business associates. Simple as that.

Why is my term confusing?

***Louise, nobody from my blog, myself included, got a letter from Josh’s lawyer telling them/ me to shut down my site.   You DID!

***I have never, in any way, shape or form, ever contacted Josh Groban, any member of his family, nor any of his friends for any reason what so ever.

You contacted Josh’s father 23 times through emails and also made several personal phone calls to his office during working hours!

You contacted Josh Grandmother and sent a “Josh Pillow” to her Home!

Nobody on this site is proclaiming Josh is gay but you do even after he’s denied it time and time again.

You have been banned from all of Josh’s official sites and from his charities. Nobody here is banned.  We can all join the official sites. I choose not to but I can if I want.

Stop trying to twist the events on this site to suit your own absurd  meaning.

Well, here you go folks…

We now have more PROOF that Ozy’s blog is a disrespectful slimey site devoted to maligning Josh Groban, attacking me and other Josh fans, and stalking Josh’s friends:

First, a photographer came to the blog and demanded the photos of Rachel be removed, then one of her FRIENDS posted this:

On February 19, 2012 at 3:26 pm NW said:

I am friends with Rachel, we have worked together for years. I contacted the photographer when I saw his work was on here. I can assure you that Rachel is a very sweet, normal, and private person. I will always look out for her, and I know that she would feel embarrassed to see something like this being discussed by total strangers online. Who she is or is not dating is no one’s business but her own.

And OZY has the NERVE to malign OTHER fans, claiming THEY will violate Rachel’s privacy. What a hypocrite– because obviously the ONLY fans DOING that are the posters on HER blog! And violating it SO much that Rachel’s friend had to go there and post the above! Yep, there they are “investigating” everything they can about Josh’s friends or anyone he tweets to… looking up their facebook pages, seeing who they like or follow or who their friends follow…. it’s DAMN CREEPY!!

And the creepiest are the trio of Kari, Lauren, and PCJG1 who apparently are obsessed with proving to everyone that Josh loves them, hates me, and that their “theories” about him and his life are correct. … and they email each other behind the scenes, talking their CRAP, to who knows who….

Then they go and on about how Josh is hiding things and being thoughtless or a cad or a womanizer or a drunkard… or that he needs to grow up… and on and on and on…. then saying it’s only “their opinion” and all their posts are “great”…

It’s INFURIATING!!!

POOR JOSH to have such a blog of horrors on the internet!!!

And to think that they believe that people visit that site actually LIKE what they read there? REALLY?? They are delusional!

And if he reads there, I bet that Josh gets VERY upset about most of the things he reads….

And he does NOT deserve that!

And before anyone acuses ME of violating Josh’s privacy because I criticized his former girlfriend or complained about his management or record company, let me say that that is COMPLETELY LUDICROUS.

I have never known ANYTHING about Josh’s private life, NOR did I ever “investigate” anything about it, like OTHER fans did. I commented on public companies that I was a customer of, pubic events, movies, photo shoots, and things I witnessed myself…. and none of that is private stuff in Josh’s life.

I never tried to find out where he lived or GO to his house, fling myself on his parent’s car, try to make friends with his parents or band members or management or mods of his boards or employees of his record company, try to crash his parties or camp out in the lobby of his hotel or try to find out where he was…. YES FOLKS– fans have done ALL of those things. And those are the things that violate his privacy, NOT anything that I have done.

YES, an insane person emailed things to me years ago and I was a FOOL to believe this person, but again, I never did anything to violate Josh’s or his family’s privacy.

And I am FED UP with being accused of doing such things and of being constantly maligned on Ozy’s blog by hateful creeps.

I’m angry… I guess you can tell…

And part of the reason is that Josh is LOSING FANS because of “fans” like those at Ozy’s site… because they either believe their CRAP or they can’t stand fans being hateful to other fans.

So JUST STOP!

~~~~~~~
And so, even though Ozy maintains an entire thread there maligning ME and my site, with page after page of cruelty, I am SO FED UP with the crap over there that I vow NEVER to mention that site here AGAIN.
I will not delete the posts of anyone who wishes to comment here, but I request that you do like I plan to do– comment on good places, not places where idiots and creeps hang out.
I told someone in an email that I plan to do that and here are some comments from the email I got as a response:
“They have way too much time on their hands and they stalk his every move, that makes me cringe. ….. You are right you need to stay away from there as I do, they are poison. … Josh is a funny and sweet guy and I am sure if he knew that this sort of thing is going on he wouldn’t be happy either. You also need to let go of the past, ignore the haters and get on with your life.”
YES, that is what people think… I am NOT the only one fed up with that site.
And YES, I was STUPID to ever get caught up here trying to defend myself and Josh and other fans against their malicious posts. A DAMN FOOL. Because they will never change.
I should be spending my time on better things!!!!!
I apologize to my members here for all my outrage and responses to that site… I will IGNORE from now on!!!
For Sprog/Cherry:
That’s just fine Cherry/Sprog. You failed to tell us who had wrong information and slinks off away. Nobody slinks off because WE know this blog is about SPECULATION! We didn’t malign anyone either, as Louise and you proclaim. I reposted some of the comments you made about in the Lakers thread.
I find it odd that Louise says she has this wonderful happy site devoted to Josh Groban and yet, it is a sight where Louise calls other fans Delusional, stupid and so on and so forth. What does that say about Louise? No wonder fans are turned off. Also Does Louise think Josh appreciate her claiming he is gay?  I kinda doubt he does. I think he frowns upon most things Louise and the people visiting from the same location as Josh, are his own people like his manager and his tour assistant going into the Pub and copying all the crap you spew.
Oh, I almost forgot~~~~JMO~~~~~
2/2/12
For the 100th time, Louise is making clear her distaste for my blog. Now she is using her very stupid poll to try and shore up some major slippage in subscribers.
She claims she’s not talking about MY blog because she didn’t bring up MY name in the poll but everyone and his brother knows who she has assassinated yet again!
Yep, I think it is hilarious too!
The things fans say about Josh and his tweets or comments or actions are just plain ridiculous and laughable sometimes!
And nobody has a sense of humor anymore… they SHOULD since Josh has one!
And you know what is really funny? This poll is a general poll about comments made on the internet… not just the comments at one blog. I have seen many statements about Josh being a drunkard on twitter, Facebook, FOJG, etc…. so I was trying to get opinions from the visitors of this site about what they think of the situation.
“…I think this is fun…so would Josh..”
Hee hee…. I hope I put a smile on his face….
{However, the “blog” is called in 2 of the answers in the poll. Twitter is not, FOJG is not but my “Blog” IS!}
From her ” POLL” Choices for voting:
“That blog allowing such statements should be TAKEN DOWN. They are LIBELING Josh!”
“Where are people saying that? Josh’s lawyer should send the owner of the blog a letter.”
See, Tripped up again, Louise.
In her blog page maligning me and lying about me, Ozy has posted this and she says it is MY email:
““That Twitter name is just a set up. WBR, Qprime and his parents are probably paying April Bowlby to provide the pictures and someone else is tweeting for her. That’s probably what they did last year. It worked because the fans who live in Lalaland and the paparazzi websites bought the story. You know they can’t tell the world who Josh really is so the publicists (They disgust me!) have to set up these scenarios. How come he didn’t start following her earlier? That account has been active for quite some time. “
Sorry Ozy, that is NOT MY EMAIL. I never said such a STUPID thing in my entire life.
QPrime and Josh’s parents PAYING April for photos? How ludicrous– I’m sure they can all the photos they want of her for FREE. (lol) So that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.
And the Grobans would NOT DO THAT!!
Stop SLAMMING JOSH’S PARENTS in your blog by posting some EVIL person’s accusations in your blog!
And STOP ATTACKING ME and posting CRAP and saying it’s my words!!
I am about an inch away from going to the POLICE about your blog, and I am NOT KIDDING.
Okay Louise, here is what I will do.  I have  asked that  Lauren provide me with the proof Via IPs that the emails are your. As I have your IPs, I can make the comparison and either prove true or false.   If Lauren can’t provide it, I’ll send copied to Qprime and ask them to verify the IP . I will send them the 1′s I have for you. Either way, the truth will be known!
     Until then, I will HIDE the emails.
      Louise, grow up and get a frigging grip!  It didn’t write the emails so back down off your character assassination  of me and my blog.
Why? Because I’m tired of people acting like I am some horrible person for thinking what 500,000 OTHER people have thought over the years.
SICK of it.
Josh does NOT act like a straight guy– and never HAS. People SEE that about him and then draw conclusions. Just like me.
I really don’t care how many times Josh tweets about liking boobs or how many times he says he’s not gay. That means nothing. Because he’s ALL TALK AND NO ACTION. Oh wait… I take that back– he has plenty of actions– all indicating something else….
If Josh’s entire group of “perfect fans who post on the internet” want to live in a fantasy world not based in reality, well, I can’t help that.
I, on the other hand, want to live in the REAL WORLD based on facts.
If Josh wants to keep his real private life a secret, then it’s HIS BUSINESS. But that does not mean that I should be shunned and maligned and bullied for my views, shared by thousands of other people.
And you know what is ridiculous? For YEARS I kept my mouth shut publicly, out of respect for Josh– because I knew that is what he would want. I only talked about this with a handful of FRIENDS — PRIVATELY. Then a bunch of evil bullies decided to destroy me and posted all my private thoughts in public. They didn’t give a damn about JOSH or what he would want– they only cared about destroying me and my family.
And this is STILL going on– I haven’t talked about this subject hardly EVER here over the last 3 years– and when I do it’s because OTHER PEOPLE bring it up or start maligning me about my opinions. Ozy is the WORST– she’s OBSESSED with proving Josh is not gay and that he has this stash of “secret girlfriends” somewhere….and because most of her “friends” want to have sex with Josh, they are more than happy to go along with her nasty disrespectful blog– that posts lies about me– that people believe! Her latest lie is that I said that Josh’s parents hired a beard for Josh.
Get this thru your head everyone: I NEVER said that Josh’s parents hired a beard for Josh. NEVER. And I never even IMPLIED that. And I wouldn’t say that believe I DON’T BELIEVE any such thing! Josh’s parents wouldn’t do that!!! If you read somewhere that I said it, it was MADE UP CRAP spread around in OTHER people’s emails or at OZY’S SITE.
Right now I am pretty much disgusted with Josh’s LOONEY and hateful fan base.
No wonder Josh has to getting stinkin’ drunk with Sake before vlogging to his fans– they are an embarrassment!
Observations:
1) In the last 10 years, Josh has only had one girlfriend and even as far as her, he seemed completely disinterested in her– never mentioned her unless asked, never showed any affection towards her… all photos were “posed” for the camera.
2) Almost all of Josh’s friends are gay or lesbian. Yes, I know he must work with many gay people because he’s in the entertainment industry, but he chooses to hang out in the gay community when he’s not working.
3) Attends parties at Perez Hilton’s house, where all the males in attendence appear to be gay. Sorry, a straight guy doesn’t usually go to a party with all gay men.
4) Wears clothes like…. pretty scarves, as on his last album cover. Sorry, I have never known any straight men who wear such things, and my husband hasn’t either.
5) Is very fond of wearing extremely tight pants that leave nothing to the imagination. How many straight guys do that? I don’t see any, even in the music business. (But I don’t follow all musicians of course)
6) Is extremely secretive about his personal life, especially when it comes to dating. Sorry, I don’t see any straight guys trying to hide girlfriends, or being extremely secretive like that.
7) Dancing and singing and musical theatre… anyone who is knowledgeable knows that 80% (or more) of males in those areas are gay.
8) Chooses to work with many gay celebrities and musicians… such as Rufus Wainwright on his last album, who Josh described in an interview as a “good friend”.
9) Josh and Nico Muhly barhopping in NYC. Yes, a straight guy and a gay guy decide to go barhopping together…. happens all the time, right? Yeah right….lol…
10) The few times that Josh has been seen with women over the last few years have obviously been staged for the media and paps…
11) WB Records has targeted me as an “enemy”… and why is that folks? I’ll tell you why: because I see thru all the CRAP they try to force down the throats of the clueless fans of Josh Groban… their goal: sell records to HORNY TEENAGERS (or anyone else who wants to screw Josh).
12) My husband says: his general demeanor, and having a little white dog (When he found out about the dag he said: “I rest my case”…LOL…) NOTE: My husband is NOT PREJUDICED against gay people. Not at ALL.
Ack…. I could go on, but that’s enough….
Because I’m tired of talking about this BULLSHIT… I got better things to do.
But I posted it because, as Ozy and her minions say: “It’s all my opinions and I’m just having a little FUN here.”
Taken from the Pub. 1/14/12
But you know what? I don’t give a damn if every single email I EVER sent was made public. Because I did nothing wrong. My speculations are that– just speculations and NOTHING I said is disrespectful to Josh. NOTHING. Things posted by bullies in Ozy’s blog are 100 times more horrible and disrespectful than ANYTHING I ever said.
And for the 1000th time, I did NOT say anything bad about Josh’s mother! SHE banned my pillows and HURT me deeply. And guess what? I forgave her long ago.  Your private emails have proved otherwise, Louise.
Because I am a forgiving person….
So post away bullies!
Yippeeeeeeeee!!
I don’t think Josh Groban gives a DAMN what I thought about his sexual orientation, one way or the other.
Louise’s email about April B, Twitter account:
Her comment regarding April Bowlby’s account on Twitter:
Hidden until the truth of the writer is known and I can post it here. OZY
Louise had this to say about my blog in the Lauren Y. Thread at the Pub. You can find it in the Famous Grobanites file over there.:
“It is interesting to note that the primary purpose of Ozy’s blog is to promote the idea that Josh has girlfriends and to malign ME. That’s the ONLY two threads people post in there: the “Pretty Women” thread and the “Let’s Malign Louise and her Forum” thread. Think about it folks!” Louise Miller  1/11/12
Louise~ Please remember that I had started this blog well over a year before I had the PRETTY WOMAN blog!  That was started when Josh started dating April B.
As far as the thread about the Pub, you asked for it when you refused to leave my ladies alone. You were copying and pasting comments from here over to the Pub to ridicule women who post here, including ME! So, I gave them a place where they could post responses to you that wouldn’t get deleted.
Do you you want to know how long I have had this blog up and running? Long enough for VoiceTranced to have come in a said a quick hello and wishing me luck with it.   Think about that for awhile Louise.
If I were gay I’d come out loud and proud many xmas’s ago. RT @MajorPhilebrity This Christmas, I want @JoshGroban to come out of the closet.
 Louise yet again makes some odd claims about my blog yet again! So what else is new?
Jackie hits the nail on the head and Louise dodges another fact yet again!:
The difference is you have speculated that he is and the guy on Twitter wishes that he was. No?
The Louise, yet again attack this blog of mine as well as my posters.:
I try to refrain from responding to people who post at Ozy’s blog, but since my name was mentioned again….
Response to recent posts at her blog:
Sorry to disappoint you, but this turn of events does nothing to change my mind about anything whatsoever. And before you twist what I am saying, I am NOT calling Josh a liar. Not at ALL. Josh said himself that he was “confused” and I think everyone can agree that Josh’s behavior in the last 6 years does NOT point to him being “an average straight guy” in any way when it comes to relationships and girls. Josh said he’s not gay. Fine and dandy. Maybe he’s bisexual. Who knows? I don’t. (I just speculate based on known facts.) Maybe HE doesn’t even know himself. And he’s certainly not giving out much information about anything, even if he does know…lol. He is an enigma. And HE fuels the speculation with his behavior.
Secondly, I am tired of people talking about Josh being a womanizer, sleeping around with girls in every town he visits when there is absolutely NO evidence whatsoever for that. NONE. There’s not even any evidence that he has been DATING any women for 6 years! Where are the photos of him out with a woman? Sorry, I don’t see any. Nor do I see any reports of that happening, by anyone. Josh repeatedly says he’s not dating (in a special relationship). I believe him. He’s not a liar. And there is no evidence of any sort of a relationship at all in 6 years. Go to any celebrity photo site and you will understand what I’m talking about…
People call me obsessed and nuts, but I don’t jump to wild conclusions or make up crap out of thin air and then post it as fact on the internet. Nor do I take a few tweets from Josh or his friends and turn it into a sexual encounter of some sort.
Again, what is being said about Josh in that blog is downright disrespectful and defamation of his character. You all should be ashamed!
I’m tired of the same a-hole bringing up the “letter from Josh” that I got over 3 years ago, using that as some sort of “proof” that Josh hates me.
So I am bumping this thread and posting below the ACTUAL TEXT of the letter that I got from Josh’s lawyer just a FEW DAYS after Nay threatened to bring her media site down (hurting international fans) if Josh and his people didn’t “do something about me”.
YES, that’s exactly what she did– blackmailed Josh with her media site. Read this letter carefully and think about what it says — especially about what JOSH wants.
Here is the actual letter I got:
Josh truly appreciates your enthusiasm for his music and is fortunate to have a supportive community of loyal fans such as yourself. However, when the intensity of a person’s enthusiasm results in frictions with the rest of the community, then, sadly, something is lost. It is for that reason Josh has asked that we contact you to address what has become a problematic situation. Other fans have expressed their concern that you have not been respectful of their enjoyment of Josh’s music and have conducted yourself, both in direct communications and through your website, in a manner that makes them uncomfortable.
As a result, Josh is asking that you retire your fan website and cease inappropriate correspondence with other fans. It is Josh’s sincere hope that you will express your commitment to his music in a more constructive manner and remain a valued member of the community.
Respectfully,
Kenneth L. Burry
So, as you can see, the letter was written on behalf of “other fans” that I have “made uncomfortable”.
NOWHERE in this letter does it state that JOSH does not like me or this site, NOR does it state that HE WANTS it shut down. And it even states that he appreciates my enthusiasm and that he WANTS me to REMAIN a valued member of the community.
In other words, for YEARS certain fans harassed and whined to Josh’s management (and possibly his mother) about ME because THEY didn’t like my opinions and website. And when Josh NEVER did anything about me, Nay got desparate and finally posted her famous “goodbye post” on Josh’s board to get thousands of fans UPSET enough to FORCE him to act. (30,000 fans read her post!)
So I hope this puts to rest anyone’s doubts about the meaning and content of the letter.
It is very obvious to me that Josh LIKES this site and appreciates my support– otherwise he would have had his “people” take action LONG ago.
And by the way, he likes Carl Sagan too. What an AWESOME GUY he is!
(nod)
And I hope my “letter to Josh” in the second post of this thread puts a smile on many of your faces!
 UMMMMMM. . . Please reread the text in Bold, Louise. ~ Ozy. ;-)
Yes, I see perfectly clear. (I didn’t at first, but after 3 years of thinking about the letter, I do.)
Josh asked me to shut down my site on behalf of a small group of people who hate me.
Sorry, a big fat NO to Josh. I don’t care how famous he is– HE has no business asking me to shut down my site for that assinine reason.
A small group of a-holes will not control Josh or Josh Groban fan boards or ME on the internet.
AGAIN, since you can’t seem to comprehend, Josh did NOT say that HE dislikes this site, nor did he say he dislikes me or any of the members here, nor did he say this site upsets him in any way.
I happen to think he loves this site. I also think he regrets letting certain people convince him to send that damn letter, which made him look like a bully-supporter. If I am wrong about that, he can contact me and correct me.
As long as Josh likes this forum and I have many fans who love it too, I’m going to keep running it.
And if other people hate it, I don’t give a damn.
So go away, huh?
JMO, I don’t think Amanda has a reading comprehension problem, I think Louise does. Then she say she understands but NO, she refuses to do what Josh, through his personal lawyer, asked her to do. Very sad, very bad.
And she says that my blog and members disrespect Josh?  HA!
Louise is whining again at the Pub. Her readership must have dropped off dramatically.:
While in the hospital, I caught up (a little) reading at Josh’s official boards.
I was quite upset to see “eblovesjosh” and others slamming me and the Pub (again)…
Normally I would ignore it, BUT… the thing that bothered me the most was that several people were referring to OZY’S blog site– talking about the horrible things posted about Josh there (like Josh having mental problems), and then eblovesjosh comes along and ASSUMES they are talking about the Pub and nobody corrected her– or anyone else who implied that “bad things” were in this forum.
This has happened before– people post something horrible on the internet and then someone blames ME or the Pub!! It gets SO frustrating!!
Arrow, YOU have been reading here for a while. Do YOU see anything here disrepectful to Josh or his friends? Because there is NOTHING like that here in my opinion. If YOU think there is, please let me know!!
And the favor I ask is… would you please correct eblovesjosh and the others in that thread, and let them know that the horrible things about Josh were NOT being said HERE in the Pub, but another site??
I would be eternally grateful if you could do that for me!!
(nod)
      Oh come on!  She proclaims he’s gay!  I find comments like that totally unacceptable and a defamation of his character.
Then, in another post on the same thread to Straight Arrow, she goes on to slam me and the posters of this blog.:
Sorry Jackie, you must have missed the comments a while back.
Yes, many talked about Josh having problems with depression, and that doesn’t bother me so much, because even Josh has mentioned that in the past. I wasn’t referring to that, and I don’t think that the person at jg.com was either, because even at jg.com people have often talked about Josh having depression.
I was talking about the person (or persons) going on and on about Josh being “mentally disturbed” when it comes to girls and girlfriends and how he treats them– his need to “hide” things and having “extreme paranoia” when it comes to his personal life… and that he needs “help”.
Sorry, when you say things like that about a person, it is downright LIBEL, even if you say it’s “just your opinion”.
They also talked about Josh possibly taking drugs, abusing women, being uncaring and miserly, that he supports cyberbullying of me and my friends and family, and all sorts of other horrible things about him….
And then they say it’s all “fun” and just their “opinions”…
And slam THIS SITE and have the NERVE to claim that Josh wants me and THIS site to go away…
Louise is absurd, loves to rewrite history to accommodate her opinion and continues to think she has the right to police others where Josh is concerned. Josh is a 30 year old MAN  who can look after himself, Louise. He doesn’t need you butting it to control opinions in MY blog! That’s why you are banned from here.
Oh, and here is Straight Arrow saying that there is a POSSIBILITY that Josh has SYMPTOMS of   ASPERGER SYNDROME! Taken from the “Josh Dates and Proper Relationship thread at the Pub.:
Regarding women who I have seen Josh connected with in the past year or so:
* Selma Blair
* Alison Sudol (aka “A Fine Frenzy” who he confirmed being at a ball game with, but there were online photos at a concert and on the street as well)
* Princess Madeleine of Sweden (where YouTube video of them eating together was mysteriously deleted after it was discussed on FOJG)
* Cara Santa Maria (who was in that hotel with him in Kansas City during the tornado, and tweeted about it — and where there was that interesting exchange of tweets on twitter where he tweeted “I.Can’t.Sleep.” And she simultaneously tweeted about wanting to say the serenity prayer, but having trouble with it because she’s an atheist. She also tweeted “I hate men,” the day after the shirtless photo with the French girl)
* Michele T.
And now, of course, Lorene Devienne — who was not merely photographed on the street with him, but actually on the balcony of his hotel room.
It is a bit distressing if he does not know how to co-regulate with a date (i.e. that whole thing of walking ahead, not making eye contact). That is a symptom of Asperger’s Syndrome. I have studied this a lot, because i have it in the family. People with Josh’s savant-like music abilities often do have autistic spectrum issues.
That could mean that he is just not going to be able to have a proper relationship, which makes me feel sad.
And if I get angry about what they say about me, or try to defend Josh, they claim I have a “sick mind” and that I deserve to be banned forever.
I truly don’t get it, and I never will!
Hope, speaking of April….
Ozy is seeing things again…
She says she saw photos of Josh and April hiking in the woods, posted by April on her Facebook page….
Oh God….
I’m ….
Think about it folks….
Suppose there WERE photos of Josh and April hiking in the woods… WHO took the photos?
So Josh takes April on a romantic get-away in the forest, and they bring a photographer with them?? So April can post photos of their hikes?
Or maybe…. they went hiking in a remote park and a papparazzi just happened to see them on the trail in the woods, took a bunch of photos and sent them to April to post on her Facebook page….and never posted them anywhere else…
Well, I gotta say…. Ozy’s delusions sure are entertaining me!
Yes Louise, picture April with the backdrop of the woods and a lake behind her. Famous lake apparently since several people knew where is was. The pictures were posted on her FB page but later taken private.  Pictures of her and pictures of Josh, both had the same background.
10/16/11 from the Pub
I guess I have to post this paragraph AGAIN and explain it to people who apparently can’t comprehend:  ( Nice Opening.) ~ Ozy
Above in my post to Jackie, I said this:
“I guess I put myself in his place. If I was a celebrity with a fanbase, and some fans saw me with a man three years ago, I certainly would not want a group of my fans claiming, in private, that I was dating that man and passing that info around to who knows who. I would want to know what is being said about me to set the record straight and so people would know the truth.”
Where the hell in that paragraph did I say anything whatsoever about Josh and who he dates??
Ozy, to spell it out for you: I was putting MYSELF in Josh’s place, pretending to be a celebrity. If I had fans and I had GUY FRIENDS that I hung out with now and then, other than my HUSBAND, I would NOT want a group of MY fans starting rumors behind the scenes that I was DATING one of those MEN who were my FRIENDS. I referenced MEN because I am not a lesbian. I am married to a MAN. But over the years I have had MANY MEN friends. I had lunch with them, I hung around them. And I would be mad as hell if someone started a BLOG about ME and started claiming that it was “obvious” that I was “dating” these men or having affairs with them just because someone saw us hanging out now and then–even on a hotel balcony. MAD AS HELL.
And furthermore, I think passing rumors around behind the scenes and making up crap and passing it along in private is DESPICABLE BEHAVIOR.
NOW do you get it??
I hope so, because that is exactly what YOUR blog is doing to JOSH. You “fans” see Josh with a girl and make up all sorts of wild speculations about what is going is going on and people who post on your blog are obviously passing rumors around about “Josh’s girlfriends” behind the scenes, then they act like they are “special fans” who have the inside scoop. Just like pcjg1 posting that Josh has/had a “London girlfriend”. Totally disgusting.
And then, even worse than THAT, is that when the rumors and assumptions and lies posted don’t fit into some perceived “normal man behavior”, your blog posters SLAM Josh as a womanizer, or delusional uncaring cad, or even that he has mental problems and “needs help”. An THEN everyone pats themselves on the back and tells each other how “great” they are for just “having fun”… and slam ME over and over too for being “crazy” and “delusional” just because I don’t believe their fantasies and rumors.
I have said what I think and now don’t DARE tell me that I am “attacking your posters” for their “opinions”. I am simply DEFENDING JOSH here against your nauseating blog filled with gossipy busybodies and I’m defending myself– you copy MY posts and slam me and lie about me and twist what I say all the time– and then you BLOCK me from posting on your blog to defend myself. Yet that is perfectly FINE in your book. I say one little negative thing about JJ (no I don’t like her–because of the way she treated Josh and his fans) and you malign me as someone “attacking Josh’s girls”, yet YOU have posted horrible things about MANY of Josh’s friends– much worse than anything I have EVER said anywhere. YOU are a hypocrite of the worst kind.
(I have NO idea what Louise is ranting about now!  who of Josh’s friends did I slam?????  :-P    After all, Josh is a 30 year old man. He doesn’t need Louise defending him. That’s what the D/S tried to do. Now Louise has taken  it upon herself to defend him from ME! LOL!)~ Ozy
THIS SITE respects Josh Groban, and it always HAS respected him. And Josh knows that.
( Fine Louise, but in private emails to other fans you push your personal agenda of Josh being GAY!)  Everyone saw the emails so please don’t bother denying it.)~ Ozy
Yes, people can criticize Josh here. And I allow discussions of Josh and his friends and girlfriends– that is perfectly FINE and any celebrity can expect that to happen. If Josh does not like his fans to do that, he needs to retire. But THIS forum will NOT allow people to malign Josh and I will NOT allow lies here (about Josh, about me, or about any fan)…. nor will I allow people to post libelous statements about Josh having mental problems or being on drugs or anything like that.
:@ :-@
That’s my daily rant. Back to more pleasant things…
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~
Taken from the Pub on 10/11/11 This is Louise to Jackie in the Josh Shirtless thread:
“I heard around about the time of the Inauguration that they were an item.”
Well again, over the last 5 years, I never saw one peep about that anywhere on the internet, nor any word from any fan — in public OR private. I find that extremely odd. Seems like it would have “leaked” somewhere.
I never even heard of this singer until this balcony photo came out.
And I never heard anything about a girlfriend in London either.
I guess there is a “secret group” of Josh fans who find out stuff and only share it amongst themselves. And I’m not part of it. Not that I would want to be, because I find it rather disturbing that certain fans know private things about Josh and hide it.
Because that is exactly how misinformation and bad untrue rumors continue on for years. I believe in honesty and openness, so Josh can know what is being said about him– so that he can correct misperceptions and untruths.
I guess I put myself in his place. If I was a celebrity with a fanbase, and some fans saw me with a man three years ago, I certainly would not want a group of my fans claiming, in private, that I was dating that man and passing that info around to who knows who. I would want to know what is being said about me to set the record straight and so people would know the truth.
(The GAY RUMOR that Louise continues precipitate time and time again) ~Ozy
And I certainly would NOT want a MOD on my message board going around deleting things– hiding things from everybody…
I made the mistake years ago of deciding to have a private area here in the Pub — it only lasted a few months because I was extremely uncomfortable with it….
(she was uncomfortable because she didn’t have the world watching HER!. That’s why she  deleted the Phoenix Files from the Pub as well. Her audience were coming to read and comment on the PF instead of paying attention to her personal drama and melt downs. How sad is that? She was really up the creek when I moved them out of the Pub and that fan based followed me instead of staying to see the “show at the Pub.”)~ Ozy
So no more… if fans are going to talk about Josh (as in photos, etc.) they need to do it on the public internet… I won’t support hiding things from Josh anymore…
But I see that I am in the minority. Seems like many of Josh’s “prominent” fans have no problem having a secret club…
(Jackie, I’m not referring to YOU… but other fans….)
And by the way, I’m putting everything I know… every last detail, in my book….”
(Ah, the truth comes out! Louise is writing a book! Will wonders never cease.) ~Ozy
Anon, not only has she convinced herself that he is gay but she has convinced herself that he in no way ever says he is heterosexual. So in her mind he is doing a “don’t ask , don’t tell” kind of thing. So then it is ok if she implys he is gay all the time. That is not being disrespectful or saying he is a liar.
She drags parts of out posts over there all the time and proclaims loudly that we are horrible for saying JG is not very honest about his love life. How dare we call him a liar??? She has proclaimed this loudly on the front page of the Pub.
Well, no, he doesn’t have a t-shirt saying “I’m straight” but I think has certainly professed he is straight -well as much as anyone does. So we are terrible for saying we think he hides girlfriends but she is just being honest and supportive by saying he is gay?? It’s all very convoluted thinking.
Slam a lawsuit against her…for Libel and Defamation of Character! That should solve any problems from creeping on up. Or…you could ignore it, like I do! If you feel it will turn into another affair similar to what you have indicated you experienced in the past amidst Josh’s fan base…then I’d go for the lawsuit. Put a halt to it…and let these people know that you seriously are all about business. That is most definitely what I’d be doing. I’d get the cost of the court fees back in my restitution, after a phone call or two, you can bet on that.
This is also you, is it not, Tina?. Let me make something Perfectly clear you, Dumb Dumb, oh yes, I do know who you are. PCJG1 is protected by ME as this is MY site and as I happen to know Louise crap as well as her history, I’d personally advise you to back down from suggesting Louise sue anyone! What PCJG1 said wasn’t only the truth but I have the facts and the proof to back it up. Now just crawl back over to Pub and stay there. This will be your only warning. Ozymandias!
This is not a post that I am happily putting up but it seems that I am forced to for the sake of my own members of this site.
Many of you know Louise and the Pub from the War several years back.
But Louise is back to character assassinations again and this time, she has chosen the posters of this blog in order to do her own “Twist and Shout” on. :
Taken from the Pub on 7/1/11: Opening comments are Louise’s.
Sorry, but I can’t resist posting this here, because it’s a good summary of the ridiculous thinking some fans have…. if you could call it “thinking”….
I think “allthingssparkley” needs to wake up and smell the coffee….
Josh is not “insulting” anyone with his behavior– he’s one of the nicest guys on the planet! He’s just keeping certain things private! Geez…. this gets SO old!
Although I DO agree with the part about JJ –that Josh has not altered his behavior because some fans didn’t like her. That theory is sheer lunacy… I’m sure Josh listens to his fans’ opinions about his music, but I seriously doubt he will let fans run his personal life!
If he hasn’t something is very wrong with him!!!!lolHe lies about them and says he’s single and hides and asks people to delete twitters and pics when he’s spotted!!! It’s the most ridiculous sketchy behavior ever and it’s annoying!! Don’t even try to say anything about how his fans treated JJ. It’s soooo not about that. That was yrs ago and you can’t tell me for one second that his fans control any aspect of his life if they did most of the older original fans would have him still deemed an angel!!! Let’s be honest here. He’s been trying to shed that image since he got it. I mean have the backlash since he spoke out for gay rights??? Do you think it’ll change for second him supporting it?? No Thank goodness!!! I’m all for him being his true self. I’m a huge fan!!Although the secrecy surrounding his private life is weird.It makes him look less than honest.Why would someone go to such lengths to hide a relationship any relationship for that matter?? I don’t know but it’s not normal.I love his music, i love his personality and his sense of humor and the voice goes without saying. But i have to say the neverending sketchfest that surrounds him is quite unsettling!!!IMO
In the next post, she has this to say about someone who posts here.:
“Nothing like wasting my time with this topic, but I’ve worked hard this week, so what the hell…lol…
I truly think those peeps at Ozy’s site are smoking something…”~ Louise.
Now I don’t live at this site as I know the ladies here are adults and everyone seems to get along. I pop in twice a day and make sure things are fine.  But tonight, before trying to go to bed, I found this post in my moderation folder from all things Sparkley, the poster that Louise was slamming and laughing at.:
Submitted on 2011/07/01 at 4:36 am
Ozy,
I know that you would rather we not discuss Louise from the pub here. I can totally accept and even respect that, but when she takes my entire post and drags it through the mud waist deep all the way over to her pathetic holier than thou Josh is a GOD and can do no wrong except ban me completely from his entire existance sad little rambling website. So she can put it in whatever context that may fit her sad little cause, she can comment freely on it along with her other members I have a problem with that!!! You can bet your bottom dollar that I wanted to comment on her site i would’ve done so in the first place. U am not happy at all about this and if this is how things are around here we are expectes to assume a certain level of respect for her but she can do and say as she pleases with our comments. i won’t be posting here anymore. I’ll be damned if I’ll have my opinion taken out of context and slammed by some woman who’s crossed the line already to the point of being banned from the very very person that this entire website is dedicated to.
My reply to ATS:
All Things Sparkley, If Louise has shot off her mouth, then You and anyone else she has malign from this site, over at the pub have every right to defend your personal reputations HERE on this Site of mine. You can reply here or go over there. If she is looking for yet another war, she has chosen the wrong site to pick a fight with.
However, please give me until tomorrow to set up a post about it so that any warring going on will be kept out of this thread. Not everyone who comes here and reads want to get involved in a written tug of war over Louise’s nonsense. If the audience want to read about what is happening between The Pub and JGN (Josh Groban New) then they can but many do not so I will keep the written sparing on a separate post.
ATS~ Also keep in mind that if you leave and quit posting, Louise has won. Keep in mind that she is banned from this site so she can’t come here and post she can only post at the Pub.
Then, I went over to the Pub and posted a warning there.:
Louise, if my site and my posters have to be the tripe for your personal entertainment, then I think you need to find something to do with you time. You do not have my permission to copy and paste the postings from JGN (my blog), and post them over here to ridicule either the post or the poster. This will be my only warning to you on this matter.
No, I can’t stop you from coming over and reading but you are looking for trouble and you have picked the wrong site and the wrong person to ridicule. You still can not post over there so please don’t try. :-$
Leave my blog and my posters out of your twisted entertainment. If you persist, then understand that you have picked a fight with me. You started with Lauren and now you have decided to pick on someone else as Lauren isn’t around.
I have always asked my posters not to bring your name up on my site as I didn’t want to start any trouble with you. But if it is trouble you want, I can dish it out, Louise.
But I’m sure you know that. >.<
Ozy
*********************
It would see that it was a great idea to repost my response to Louise over here as she manually blabberized it. Now at least the audience can see what she blabberized.
Gee and I’ve got my own thread in the Famous Grobanite Folder. ;-)
The comments are open. Ozy
Crazies Posting to Josh on Twitter: Update 12/5/12
Jennifer,
I don’t care how many twitter accounts you set up to make it appear you are a hot young girl dating or possibly dating JG for fan speculation. You are nothing more than a troll in the very sense of the word. JG will never give you the time of day you crave so much for. I pity you. I really do. You need a life. While JG is much to talk about for various reasons – you need a real man to occupy your time. A real man with a real peen. Go out of you house seek him. He is out there for you! This idea you have of JG is just a myth.
Kari
Jennifer,
I am a Christain who belives in truth. Truth always even if it hurts & is not always popular.  If the Vatican is so private why is Esmeralda posting such “look at me I’m so effing gorgeous’ pictures on her twitter? It seems she have violated one of the basic rules? Could her lust for JG have driven her to this low low point?
Kari
Well, it seems one of his twitter stalkers came back around Nov 14 and has devolved into making veiled threats. Made some remarks about food poisoning etc.Could be why he cut short the crowd /bus/signing stuff.
The tweeter sounds very remeniscent of “Bianca” from last year or the year before. She hinted she was the (ex?)gf of one of the guys in Brazil who helped JG do the drum tracks for the Portugeuese song on Illuminations. She was very angry with Josh about something and constantly tweeted about how ugly, overrated , unknown in Brazil he was,etc .
No threats back then, but alot of ‘you’re not so great, not the person people think you are etc.’ Got the feeling at the time that she had been an established vocal artist down there and was majorly pissed off at him for thinking he was so much better than the local talent. At least that’s what most of her tweets alluded to – not nice, swellheaded, ugly etc. Thought at the time that maybe she or her bf had offered to sing/play on the track but JG declined.
Anyway, not sure she’s the same person as this latest threatening tweeter, but sure sounds the same but much more actual threats this time around.  PCJG1
A NEW Talent to check out~ Active Child~ Pat Grossi
Matt Morris
Music
August 19, 2011
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter/musician Pat Grossi—who goes by the moniker Active Child—is a voice to be reckoned with. That’s not just a play on words, either. By listening to any of his songs, it’s easy to recognize that the man has been gifted with an amazing set of vocal chords. But vocal talent doesn’t always translate into good music, however. In Grossi’s case, though, he has begun to amass some buzz and a fanbase not only for his falsetto, but for his song-crafting skills as well. With impressive production by Ariel Rechtshaid behind moving ballads such as “Hanging On,” “You Are All I See” and a more uptempo single that features How To Dress Well, Grossi’s debut full-length album has been shaping up over the past few months to be something worth listening to. Now, the LP, which is also entitled You Are All I See, is up for streaming in its entirety. Listen to it below so you can decide for yourself whether or not it’s worth purchasing when it hits stores and iTunes next Tuesday, August 23 by way of Vagrant Records. Pre-order it now if you like what you hear.
I don’t know anything about this band or the lead singer~ Pat Grossi except that I heard a snippet of a song or two on NPR radio a few days ago and was amazed. I loved and I plan to buy his CD soon. I want to share the discovery with you.   OZY
Josh~ “Straight To You” World Tour Update 3/2/10
Josh Groban Announces World Tour
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.14.2011
Kicking off this spring…
Josh Groban has announced that his Straight to You World Tour will begin this spring. The singer will start off with dates in May including Dallas, Kansas City and Moline, Illinois. Tickets will go on sale for members of his fan club on February 16th, with general public availability beginning February 18th.
A full list of tour dates is expected soon.
Josh Groban – 2011 “Straight To You” World Tour Announcement
Josh is pleased to announce more North American tour dates for the “Straight To You” Tour, which begins May 12th in New Orleans. In addition to the three dates announced previously (Dallas, Kansas City, MO, and Moline, IL), more tour dates are listed below, along with ticket on-sale information.
A ticket pre-sale for members of Josh’s fanclub, Friends of Josh Groban, will begin Wednesday, March 2nd.
The “Straight To You” Tour will bring the feel of a theater experience to an arena setting though stage design, lighting, and projection, as well as through the spontaneity and interactivity Josh delighted his fans with during last year’s “Before We Begin” shows, in which he solicited feedback from the audience on which songs should be included in the set-list. As a result, for the “Straight To You” shows, Groban will continue to interact with audiences and perform favorites from his best-selling albums, including his self-titled debut, Closer and Awake as well as songs from Illuminations.
